This book was slightly annoying. The romance was cold, the plot line convoluted and the characters were not very likable. I did appreciate New Orleans as a character and the eccentricities of many of the characters who lived there. Nessa Dahl has worked for a NO bank for a very long time, never getting promoted. Jeremiah MacNaught, bank owner, travels from Philly to NO to investigate a series of tame robberies- Nessa is his prime suspect. Yet, he can't help being attracted to her. The culprits were obvious and as I said, I had a hard time liking the main characters.

The plot was unique, the characters quickly recognizable, a twist at the ending, but the dynamics between Nessa and MacNaught left me cool. Not cold mind you, but not as emotionally attached.

This was very good book. I finished it in 2 days. The aunts had me laughing out loud. Christina is a great author.
