A typical Spenser story with all the problems arising.
It just doesn't get any better then 'Spencer and Hawk'!!!!
First I've read of this writer. Interesting twists and turns. Will read his books again.
Her name is Lisa ST. Claire. Her husband's a cop. Her whereabouts are unknown. Spenser thought he could help a friend find his missing wife. Until he learned the nasty truth about Lisa St. Claire. For starters, it's not her real name...
Parker is Parker and Spenser is Spenser, and ever the twain shall greet the reader with mystery and humor, violence and philosophy. An interlude of entertainment for the literate.
A cop friend of Spenser's has been shot, and his wife has disappeared. Spenser is on the trail. Parker uses a little different style here, with about half the book told from the POV of the missing woman, whose character is developed much more fully than the usual damsel-in-distress.
My mom loved this book. She enjoyed the characters, the plot and the suspense.
Her name is Lisa St. Claire. Her husband's a cop. Here whereabouts are unknown. Spenser thought he could help a friend find his missing wife. Until he learned the nasty truth about Lisa S. Claire. For starters, it's not her real name.
Spenser series
Spenser helps a cop friend find his missing wife. He learns the nasty truth about her, for starters she is not using her real name. Very good book
Parker's characters, Spenser and Hawk, are the best of the best when it comes to finding the bad guys and keeping the humor going page after page.
Robert B. Parker is a favorite. Spenser and Hawk are hilarious.
Classic Spenser. Good treatment of changing urban Boston due to immigration by Hispanic population. Subthemes of racism, corruption, and urban decay.
Taut, wily and witty Spenser thriller
Parker's detective hero, Spenser, does it again. Scary.
