I really wanted to love this book. Being a child of the 80's and having my own obsession (along with MY best friend) with a certain 80's boy band I really thought this was going to be a great story that I could really relate to. I couldn't have been more wrong. The main character of Petra was miserable and everything about her story was depressing. I had a lot of hope with the first part of the book, although some of the parts were drawn out WAY too long, that this was a story I could get into, but once we got into the second half of the story it was a struggle just to get through a few pages at a time. Very disappointing.

Unique look at a teen idol crush, teenage girl relationships and with parents and the influence into adulthood, marriage, and parenting as well as revisiting the teen idol crush and childhood friend.
