I don't know that Ive ever enjoyed an audio book more. The narrators were beyond wonderful - I was spellbound and actually wished my commute was longer. What a beautiful story from beginning to end. The characters are fascinating - all of them! Wow! Great! 5 stars!

I found this book very interesting. It was read by two different voices which really helped follow the story. The ending was very complete and that is something I value in a good story.

I so enjoyed this version of the book! Even though it is Abridged I feel that I got the full story.
And the 2 narrators made the story come to life. Absolutely wonderful!
I can highly recommend this to anyone. A good tale that will keep you wanting more.

This book was incredible. I am only sorry that this is an abridgment and can't wait to get my hands on the full length version.

I thought this was an original story with the highest quality production. It's a pleasure to listen to. Although I found some of the plot points a little too contrived, I enjoyed the old-fashioned storytelling style. It makes for great listening.

I really enjoyed this Audio CD.The story was very interesting. Held my attention and I found myself thinking about the story after I had turned the book off. Really liked the readers style.
A 7-hour abridgement read by Ruthie Henshall and Lynn Redgrave
"The Thirteenth Tale is a return to that rich vein of storytelling that our parents loved and we loved as children. Diane Setterfield will keep you guessing, make you wonder, move you to tears and laughter, and in the end, deposit you breathless yet satisfied back upon the shore of your everyday life."

Oh how I loved this book! The story within a story, the deep love of reading, the strange characters there is good and evil and everything in between. Ive seen this referred to as a Gothic novel and Id have to agree. It just has that *feel* about it, what with a dilapidated old mansion, numerous recluses, and mysterious happenings.

This one kept me guessing and entertained on a long car trip. Interesting story and characters.
Gripping, easy to follow with surprising twists and turns.
I only finished this book because I personally try to finish every book I start to read because I believe they deserve the chance. That is the ONLY reason I finished this book, but there was a fun twist at the end I had not predicted.
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I thought the readers were excellent...the story within a story was very interesting. The ending was very good and wrapped
up things well. A very good reading experience.
