This is a very amusing and entertaining twist on cozies! A hint of "Aunt Dimity" is in this debut book of a new series about two Southern ladies of a certain age -- who actually are incredibly capable women in their own individual ways -- who set out to solve a crime and clear the name and reputation of a friend and neighbor. So many of the cozies I have read in the past are almost too sweet for my taste, but this one has some great seasoning to it. Very readable, great characters and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this promising new series!

I really enjoyed this debut book in a new series. The author uses both characters as narrators in telling the story--one chapter in Jane Thistles' voice (the new arrival in Tullulah, Alabama) and the next in Phoebe Twigg's (the long-time resident).

Enjoyed this very much. Great story and many different twists. Even the way the story is told is different.

This is the first book that I read by this author. This is a good little story. It is funny but it is really sweet as well. Jane and Phoebe are a great combination. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
