This is the first review I have ever written on PBS. Usually, I read a book and pass it on and never think about it again. I absolutely loved this book and couldn't read it fast enough. There is no way I will be able to wait for the next in the series through FIFO. I will be buying the next ASAP! This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series!

THORN QUEEN (DARK SWAN, BOOK 2) is an amazing paranormal fantasy. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. The pages draw you deep into a world of magic, mystery, and romance. Eugenie is a character that keeps growing and evolving, and I can't wait for the next one!

This is the worst book I've read in a long time. I'm not wasting anymore time on this series.

I didn't like Storm Born very much but it picked up at the end so I stuck with Thorn Queen hoping it would be better. Nothing happens until page 289 and the author lightly breezes through a violent stream of events making it "PG" rated, then has the heroine recover a few days later. Unbelievably stupid.

There is no depth to the characters, dialogue lacks snap, plot is boring and predictable. Author "tells" does not "show" meaning her writing is passive. I didn't feel drawn in, and I didn't care for the characters.

There is alot going on in Eugenie'a worlds. Her lover, Kiyo a shape-shifting fox, got another queen pregnant; both King Dorian and Prince Leith are in love with her; she is now queen of her own lands in The Otherworld; her own sister is trying to kill her; someone is kidnapping fae girls and selling them into slavery; there are bandits in her new lands; and since she changed the lands to desert, her people have no water and cannot grow food. Yup, Eugenie's plate is definitely full.

A story of love, betrayal and war. A wonderful installment. I particularly liked Dorian in this one and Leith should be gelded. I truly cannot wait to see where poor Eugenie is thrust next.

The book begins slowly, but promisingly. Then Mead crams way too much action into the end of the book, glossing over some very serious events. A lot happens to the characters that doesn't seem to have any consequences and isn't actually dealt with.

I have to say again that Dorian is my all time favorite character in this series. I dont care if he has motives for his actions he is the most honest and forth coming character in this book. I understand him and know that while he loves Eugenie his main concern is in getting more power. We know what he wants and that makes him easy to understand. Loved what he did in the end of the book though it will bring trouble in the next. Yet while I love Dorian Im so tired of Kiyo already and this is only the second in the series not sure what I want to really say about him other than seriously he cant love her that much after what he does in the end of the book. I just dont understand how he validates himself his actions are so hypocritical its not funny he can kill in defense but not for love really that makes no sense. And he can live in both world but Eugenie can, oh and he can embrace his whole self but Eugenie is not supposed to. He acts like he being part gentry is something she can just turn off like her powers are not a part of her when they are as much a part of her as his fox is him. Seriously him not wanting her to use her magic is so hypocritical its not funny I just cant stand the way he acts. Im not sure I really felt that sorry for Eugenie at the end of the book I mean sure it wasnt exactly the best thing to happen to a person but then she goes yo-yoing again between Kiyo and Dorian really I wouldnt have expected that after everything. Sad to say I wasnt impressed with the way Eugenies character acted in this book. I think she should have figured this out much sooner than she did she should have been paying better attention or at least listened to Dorian when he told her what to do.

I really wanted to Like this story. For the most part I enjoy Mead's Succubus series. The first book in the Dark Swan Series was very promising. I loved the dialogue, the characters were convincing, and the action kept me interested. But with the second instalment I felt she totally jumped the Shark. The girl out of her element aspect isn't working for me anymore. By now she should be well into the "what do I do now phase?" instead of wallowing in the "What is going on phase?" and the whole "I Don't Do Bondage! (Are you Believing me yet?) thing?" Would you grow up PLEASE?!. I didn't bother finishing this one and removed the next one from my wish list

An excellent read! While it helps to have read the previous book, this can stand on its own.

Richelle Mead delivers again with Thorn Queen. I thought this book was even better than the first (Storm Born). I love Georgina, she's strong, smart and I love her humor. The story between Georgina, Kiyo and Dorian is excellent...couldn't put it down!
