I got this book yesterday and I blasted through it. So fun! So Veronica! I really enjoyed the mystery. It was complicated enough to keep me guessing, but not so complicated things got messy or confusing. I also enjoyed the kind of quiet background thread of Veronica trying to settle into her new life and trying to sort of renegotiate her relationship with her father as an adult and work partner.

Worried about tourism and not having faith in Sheriff Lamb, the local Chamber of Commerce has approached Mars Investigations to help find a missing girl. Since Keith Mars is laid up with injuries suffered in a car crash, his daughter Veronica steps in to handle the case. With the help of her friends Mac and Wallace, Veronica tracks the missing girl to a mansion where there are parties nearly every night. She learns that the people renting the mansion have ties to a Mexican drug cartel. The next day she discovers that another girl has gone missing; one who has ties to Veronica.
Are you a fan of the Veronica Mars tv show? Did you watch the Kickstarter movie that came out a few years ago? If so, you will love this book. The story picks up about two months after the movie ended. Veronica has given up her chance to work for a big New York law firm to become a private investigator. Her father is not happy about her following in his footsteps.
This mystery has a lot of twists and turns. There were many red herrings that led me down the wrong path. I listened to the audiobook which I highly recommend. Kristen Bell narrates this book. No one else could voice Veronica Mars. My rating: 5 Stars.

Has everything a fan of Veronica Mars loves. a totally inept Neptune Sheriff's Department, Veronica being too nosy for her own good and the crazy town of Neptune will all its wacky characters we all love. It takes place a couple months after the events of the Veronica Mars movie. Two girls go missing after attending a party. Veronica is hired to find out what happened because as we Veronica Mars fans know the sheriff's department in Neptune is too inept and corrupt to do actual police work. A lot of good twists and turns. Overall an excellent entertaining mystery.
Reads just like an episode of Veronica Mars!
