Finished this last night. I can't believe I almost didn't continue with the series, after not being overimpressed with One For the Money! Stephanie, Lula, Morelli, Ranger, and the rest of the stellar cast feel like old friends now.
I do love that Evanovich puts some running jokes throughout the books, such as Stephanie's car woes, and the indestructible Buick! I think that there were some running jokes with language in this one also. "Hunh" (used as an exclamation, question, and so on) was uttered by many characters (including Stephanie's Father) in this book. "Damned Skippy" was another one, usually from Lula.
Lula displayed a tender and caring side in this book, putting her friend and previously fellow hooker Jackie into rehab. I noticed a few exchanges between Stephanie and Lula that were really quite serious. This book wasn't all slapstick comedy. Even Stephanie's strange relationship with cop Joe Morelli has been tempered a little. Morelli seems to be getting frighteningly close to settling down.
I also appreciated that there was not an over-the-top dangerous psychopath throughout the book (as in the previous two books), although the "men in ski-masks" came close.
Wonderful!

This is the 3rd in the series with Stephanie Plum, the inept bounty hunter, her two love interests - Joe and Ranger - and her eccentric family, including the infamous Grandma Mazur. Great reading and a surefire belly laugh in several places.

Trenton, N.J., bounty hunter and former lingerie buyer Stephanie Plum (last seen in Two for the Dough) becomes persona non grata when she tracks down a neighborhood saint who has failed to show up for his court appearance. No one wants to help Stephanie, who works for her bail-bondsman cousin, Vinnie. While questioning admirers of the man nicknamed Uncle Mo, Stephanie is attacked and knocked out as she cases his candy store. She comes to next to the dead body of her attacker, who turns out to be a well-known drug dealer. Suddenly, she can't avoid stumbling across the bodies of dead drug dealers: one in a dumpster, one in a closet and four in the candy store basement. Stephanie suspects that mild-mannered Mo has become a vigilante and is cleaning up the streets in a one-man killing spree. But when she's repeatedly threatened by men wearing ski masks, she wonders if Mo has company and just might be in over his head. Despite her new clownish orange hair job, Stephanie muddles through another case full of snappy one-liners as well as corpses. By turns buttressed and hobbled by her charmingly clueless family and various cohorts (including streetwise co-worker Lulu, detective and heartthrob Morelli and professional bounty hunter Ranger), the redoubtable Stephanie is a character crying out for a screen debut.

This is the funniest Stephanie Plum novel yet. I can't recall the last time a book made me laugh out loud not once but many times. And I'd laugh later when I would remember a certain passage from the book. Stephanie is up to her chin in trouble again, and what a fun ride to be along on!
She's got a new sidekick in Lula, the ex-hooker turned file clerk, and their banter is one for the record books. There is less of Grandma Mazur in this one, but the few appearances she makes are gut busters! She's at her funniest when Ranger joins the Plums for dinner one night. Things are getting interesting with Morelli, too!
The ending to this one was a bit murky. I was following along fine until Stephanie got a good lead, but while it was hinted at and you know what the end result is, you never know what the whole story is or why the lightbulb went on and how she figured it out. A lot of the details seemed to be pared down in the last chapter and I would rather have read them than assume what was going on. But aside from that, it's another fun adventure with Trenton's sassiest bounty hunter.

Third in the Stephanie Plum series. As usual, Stephanie gets in over her head when she tries to track down Mo Bedemeir, the beloved owner of the local candy store, who has gone AWOL on his bond and a no-show for his court date. People keep ending up dead and Stephanie always seems to be on the scene when it happens. If you enjoy a quick and entertaining read, you'll enjoy this series.

I have read all of the Plum books and they are all laugh out loud! Don't read these in public unless you are ready for "the looks". In this one Uncle Mo goes missing and Stephanie has to track him down.

Another good one, less Gramda Mazur, wish there was more, but the action keeps on coming and the humor is still there. I cannot imagine that there are so many of these books, seems like a sleepy town for so much action, but I guess that is why it is fiction! Get into the series, you will never get out, but you will love it all the same.

I enjoy reading about how Steph gets herself in and out of interesting situations. HILARIOUS!!!!
My daughter recently read this book, and she read it in 2 days! Once she was finished she told me everything about this series. "Three To Get Deadly" is the third book in the Stephanie Plum series, and so far,of what my daughter has told me, it has been a hilarious, action packed novel that never slows down. Stephanie Plum just started working for her her very pervy cousin ,Vinnie Plum, as a bounty hunter and ever since she started she has been shot at, stalked, several of her cars have been blown up, and she even made a friend along the way,Lula a former hooker turned file clerk who works with Stephanie and for Vinnie. Along the way of kicking butt and bringing in bonds Stephanie ran into Joe Morelli. This former cop ,who Stephanie has had many "encounters" with in not only her childhood but also highschool on several occations. I recommend that you start with the first book in the series and work yourself through this super funny series of 18 books of awkward situations, nonstop action, drama, and even romance.(the first book is One for the Money)
Thanks and i hope you consider this crazy series!,

Stephanie Plum is at it again in the third installment of the series. Chasing bad guys, bumbling her way through her new life as a bounty hunter. This time, she's after a much-loved candy-store owner, so she gets no help from people in town--even as the body count rises. Spark continue between Morelli and Stephanie in this fast-paced page turner.
This books is so funny and really kept me interested where I could not put it down.
This is another great Stephanie Plum book, which I have recommended to my daughter-in-law, who had never read any of them. She is now as big a Plum fan as I am!
I love the Stephanie Plum series. The books are easy to read and very entertaining. It relaxes me and takes my mind off things at the end of a long day. They are relatively short and easy to get through. I read them quickly even with just some short bedtime reading. That can be either a good or a bad thing.
Not sure I want to read more. The stories are interesting but the premiss is the same over and over. I think I will take a break and then continue.

As usual, Stephanie Plum is way over her head. Untrained, uncoordinated, dysfunctional and disorganized, she is the world's most unlikely bounty hunter.
This time her assignment is simply to track down the town saint, a well-loved candy man with a devoted following. Suddenly people are shooting at her, drug dealers are turning up dead and her new sidekick is a former hooker with an attitude and a craving for action, at least until it becomes too dangerous.
Acknowledging her limitations, she calls on professional bounty hunter Ranger and police detective Morelli, her primary romantic weakness.
After all the expected and unexpected twists and turns, this turns out to be a wildly funny and entertaining read.

This series is "laugh out loud" funny. I had to look up on the internet what a 1952 powder blue Buick looked like and I found a picture! Another good story of Stephanie Plum and looking for her bounty. Good fast read!
Stephanie Plum, the brassy babe in the powder blue Buick, is back, and she's having a bad hair day - for the whole month of January. She's been given the unpopular task of finding Mo Bedemier Trenton's most beloved citizen, arrested for carrying concealed, gone no-show for his court appearance. And to make matters worse, she's got Lula, a former hooker turned file clerk - now a wannabe bounty hunter - at her side, sticking like glue. Lula's big and blonde and black, and itching to get the chance to lock up a crook in the trunk of her car. Morelli, the New Jersey vice cop with the slow-burning smile that undermines a girl's stronger resolve is being polite. So what does this mean? Has he found a new love? Or is he manipulating Steph, using her in his police investigation, counting on her unmanageable curiosity and competitive Jersey attitude? Once again, the entire One for the Money crew is in action, including Ranger and Grandma Mazur, searching for Mo, tripping down a trail littered with dead drug dealers, leading Stephanie to suspect Mo has traded his ice-cream scoop for a vigilante gun. Cursed with a disastrous new hair color and an increasing sense that it's really time to get a new job, Stephanie spirals and tumbles through Three to Get Deadly with all the wisecracks and pace her fans have come to expect.

Stephanie is after Uncle Mo, a beloved figure in the community that every one feels can do no wrong. Drug dealers are turning up dead all over town and Stephanie thinks Uncle Mo might be involved. Another good Plum novel that I read in 2 nights. The ending felt a little off because the author kept us in the dark a little too long about some of the details. Overall, though, quite enjoyable and a fast read.

Some of the best mental candy I've come across in a while. Even though I know she's blonde, I always end up with Marissa Tomei from "My Cousin Vinnie" as my mental image of Stephanie Plum. Fun to read and wonderful relaxation!
This book is highly entertaining as are all the Stephanie Plum series!
Funny third in the series of novels featuring Vegas bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Truly original.
Another great read by Janet Evanovich - each book just keeps getting better and better. A lot more intense as each book goes on - keeps the reader involved that's for sure! :)

A lot like the first 2, only more so
Another quick and funny read by Evanovich in the Stephanie Plum series. Though I still think, maybe moreso in this book than the previous two, that Stephanie is such an idiot at times and more than half the trouble she gets into is of her own making. Nonetheless, she's still pretty funny, and the stuff she gets into while on the hunt for Uncle Mo, along with Lula and Morelli, brought a chuckle more than once. I'd so like to see Stephanie wind up with Morelli eventually, and there were hints of this coming in this book. :)
This is another in the line of Stephanie Plum mysteries. It is a load of fun!! If you've read any of her others, you'll enjoy this one.
The tired book in the terrific Stephanie Plum, Bounty hunter extraordinaire (in messing up her captures and her personal life). This involves a evil candy store owner and a mortician. It is a hoot from the first to the last page.
I love this series!!
A great and funny read!

I am LOVING this series!!! I LOL every time I read one of these books! A great easy read!
Evanovich has a wonderful style of writing a good story that is entertaining and humerous. I couldn't put it down. Read the whole book in one sitting, laughing all the way through at Lulu's antics and Stephanie's predicaments.
Probably the funniest Stephanie Plum book.
Lite and funny, this series is the perfect pick-me-up.
One of my favorite Stephanie Plum's!
The Stephanie Plum series is one of my favorites. All the books in this series are excellent, fun reads.
Great airplane/airport read.
This is a fun book I enjoyed it very much. I had ordered this from a member and want to let anyone who wants it that this is a book that once belonged to a library so it is in good shape but has the library markings on it.

A fun read. The star continues to get herself into one predicament after another but some way manages to get out of each situation in an amazing way. This book is full of some good laughs!
This series continues to be as witty and suspenseful as the previous two novels. Stephanie Plum is a great character and very easy to relate to.

Funny, hilarious,must read.
Trenton, N.J., bounty hunter and former lingerie buyer Stephanie Plum becomes persona non grata when she tracks down a neighborhood saint who has failed to show up for his court appearance.
Third in the Stephanie Plum Bounty Series.
Another zany adventure with Stephanie Plum!
You can't go wrong with Stephanie Plum.
