I loved this book. This is one of those books where you really care about the characters and the beginning, middle and end of the storyline aren't that important. It's just interesting to be involved with these characters for a little while and see into their lives. I also liked that you get background on each of them from their own perspective so that you understand their motivations.

I ordered this on a whim -- and was glad I did! A wonderful page-turner, blending decades-long friendships and a shocking killing. Very smartly written, with wonderful, complex characters, suspenseful, and intriguing. Definitely recommended!

The quote on the cover promises lovers of Adriana Trigiani will find this comparable to her novels. I did not find this to be the case at all. While an enjoyable read, I don't believe it will be a memorable one.

I loved it! It was a fast and fun read and I really got involved in the lives of all the Margarets. I heard that it's based loosely on how Calaway Gardens used to be managed and since I live near there - although I've never been! - I found the scandals described very fascinating. The story of the first two Margarets' personal lives in charge of the gardens when it was first opened is not based upon any real person's reality, as far as anyone knows, though - just to be clear.

A worthwhile read, especially if you're a fan of books set in the South, with sassy female characters.
Wish I could give it MORE than 5 stars! The 3 Miss Margarets are 3 elderly Southern friends who share a horrible secret, a secret that has ruled (and ruined?) their lives and the lives of many others who are unknowingly touched by deeds of the past. Difficult to put down. Switches between the present and the past in flashbacks but not difficult to follow. "To know all is to understand all." Amen to that!

It is the story of three woman and how very different their lives are and how those lives are intertwined. Through their love and respect for each other and their three musketeer attitude. I remember initially picking this book up because it reminded me of three dear elderly ladies at church and their exploits through the years. I enjoy reading about friendships and so, I found this book very much to my likening. There were funny moments, serious moments and down right sad moments in this book. Overall a delightful read and an enjoyable book. Hopefully a book that will stay with you for a long time.

I really enjoyed this book.I've definitely known women like the 3 Margarets in my lifetime. I wish the characters of Lauren and Josh had been fleshed out more but I guess that leaves the possibility of other books open.Also would be nice to know what happened with Nella and Vishta after they left Charles Valley.
This one took me awhile to "get into" but then I just couldn't put it down! The lives of the Miss Margarets touch so many people in this small town; each has a fascinating history and together they influence so many lives.
