I loved this book! It sounds like a basic who done it, but it has an incredable twist at the end that makes it a whole lot more.

WOW! I was so surprised by the ending. IT was a great non stop ride. It will keep you guessing til the end. You will love it! Kinda cerebral and involves some thinking.

I can only hope that my one star rating will help nudge this book's overall rating below 4 stars because as it stands now it is severely inflated and misleading...So much so that initially I had no doubt in my mind that I would find some level of enjoyment in the book. My dear PaperBackSwap friends, this is the first time you have lead me astray.
I'm not a book snob by any means, and typically I can find at least something enjoyable with each book I crack open, but this is by far the worst book I've read in ages. As I sit hear reading through all of the 4 and 5 star reviews I shake my head and wonder if we were reading the same book?
A few things that really bothered me about this book (without giving away the story for all of you poor misguided souls who managed to read this review and STILL decide to read this book):
- Dekker must have loved M. Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense" so much so that he decided to fill a 352 page novel with a gazillion plot twists. I'm all for a good twist here and there but Teddy you went severely overboard with this book. By about page 225 it grew tiresome and I really didn't care anymore. Hell, the only reason I finished reading the book was simply because I'm not one to leave a book semi-read, regardless of how horrific it is.
- Teddy please listen closely to this one. Grown adults do not call someone that they despise and want to murder a "puke face" in an attempt to insult them. Now I understand that you are a Christian author but if you want to be taken even somewhat seriously in a book like this the least you could do was throw in a good "asshole", "bitch", or "mother fucker" every once and a while.
- Finally (trust me I could go on and on and on but I've already devoted way too much time to this atrocity already), the story is just plain ridiculous. Once all the dust settles, and the gazillion twists are untwisted, Teddy haphazardly tries to make all of the events seem credible but to no avail.
A few good things about this book:
- I did find the story of Kevin's strange upbringing somewhat intriguing, but that was before Teddy ruined it all. Damn you Teddy.
- It's a quick read so while it will definitely be a waste of your time it won't waste too much time. That's a plus right?
Enjoy!!

Wow! I am usually not much for thrillers, but this one had me hooked. Also I often find books to be predictable, but this book kept me guessing till the end! Great for a person who loves thrillers, but without the blood and gore that often comes with it. I can't wait to read more by this author!

I absolutely did not see the ending coming at all - really threw me for a loop a couple of times! I finished the book quickly because I really didn't want to put it down, and I'll probably get more sleep now since I'm done reading this. I was staying up WAY too late reading this one. A real page turner!

WOW! What a book...I loved it!!! Ted Dekker is my new favorite author! During the entire book I kept wondering how he was going to tie Christianity into the story. I shouldn't have worried. I sat in total awe at the end of the book just soaking it all in! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a thrill, but appreciates a good Christian twist.

Ted Dekker is my favorite author ever, I have and read every book he has written. This one is probally his best. Made into a movie, Thr3e will keep wondering until the end, but when it comes you believe it. Pay attention to the beggining. It plays a important role though the book and is a great message.

This book is a page turner. I could not put it down, oh dinner? Was I supposed to cook dinner?

While this was no doubt a clever story with a fascinating concept, I did not love it as much as most reveiwers. As I don't want to give anything away, by the end I did feel the antagonist's execution of terrorism was unlikely. I felt as though the twists in the plot were "led up to" and by the climax, I was, for lack of better words, "preparred". I like to be completely blind-sided when I read a mystery/suspense. Other than that, this was a well-paced read, with an interesting look into the main character's upbringing. I do have the movie on my DVR at home, and I look forward to seeing how it is adapted. Overall, a good book...and I will likely read another by Dekker.

A spiritual thriller book that will make you think you have things figured out, just to find that at the end you didn't have a clue! Wow! Sometimes it takes me a bit to get through books, but not this one! A lot like Frank Peretti's style of writing. Highly recommended! Can't wait to read another Ted Dekker book. I hope they really do turn this into a movie like the cover says.

Psychlogical mystery, thrilling but in a elementary way. it is marketed as a Christian book, but not preachy.
Like alot of the other reviewers...WOW! This is the first book I've read by this author. I could not put it down. The plot twists and turns almost had my head spinning. Highly recommended if you're into thrillers.

This book was creepy. I don't usually read scary stuff and ended up having to only read it durring the day. When I finally got through it I was glad I did.

This book is a definite page turner! I kept flipflopping on who I thought the suspect was, and it kept me going until the very end! Dekker does his usual good versus evil.

Excellent author; not one of his best, a little predictable, but you still come to care for the characters and is worth the time.

A man is driving his car when his cell phone rings. The voice on the other end tells him that if he doesn't confess his biggest sin, his car will be blown to pieces in three minutes. This begins a frightening series of demands from an unknown assailant.
WOW! This book is action-packed from the very beginning and doesn't let up. The most amazing part are the numerous plot twists that keep you hanging in until the end. When you reach the end, you'll want to read it again to try to put all together!

Dekker is one of those authors that I either love his books or hate his books. Hardly do I find one I'm indifferent about. This one I absolutely loved - maybe the best one of his I've read. The suspense is fantastic and the plot well designed and well written. The twisted ending caught me off guard and was perfect. Highly recommend!!

Good book, T. Dekker is an AWESOME story teller!
I haven't met anyone that doesn't think Ted Dekker is an outstanding author, so if you have read any of his books you know that they keep you turning pages. If you haven't read any of Ted Dekker's books you're in for a treat!
Wow, from someone who reads well over 100+ books of this genre annually, seldom do I find one that measures up to a 5-star rating.
This book was unpredictable from the beginning. The characters are fleshed out throughout the story and totally genuine.
The gist of the storyline is what earns this book a "WOW" from me. I challenge any reader not to question his/her own beliefs by the end of the story.
Kudos to Mr. Dekker for writing a book I will not soon forget.

WoW! could not put the book down...it was absolutely reveting!
I cannot say much about this book. It is too good to say much about for fear of saying something that might give part of the story away. So this I do say: It absolutely has got to be one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. I really enjoyed it. Really. I encourage you to go read it. I would think that anyone 10 yrs or older, if they are mature, could read and enjoy it. Please go do so. It's a page turner to the extent that you do not want to put the book down until you know what the ending is. Dekker did an amazing job.

Wow- I certainly agree with Ronnie G.! but unlike him I didn't finish it--it sooooooooooooo slooooooooooooow and just repeats and repeats and finally I just didn't care anymore. I didn't find (what I did read) anything suspenseful or thrilling about it.
I've read some Dekker books that have been really good but this is not one of them.

Christian themed who-dun-it. Good.
I made the mistake of watching the movie on cable TV the other night before reading the book. I found out the twisting-surprising ending. The movie was awful. I should have read the book instead!
A mind bender... The main character receives threats on his life while trying to protect a female friend from the stalker... Very good...
This is the best book I have read in a long time. You will not want to put the book down until you have finished it. Similar to a Frank Peretti Book in that it is scary but you will keep reading to find out what happens next. I will be looking for more Ted Dekker books to read.
Great book to read.... I COULD NOT put it down... Even clear to the end... You will not believe the ending...
This was a real page-turner with a wicked twist!
I didn't really like the story, but it was very suspenseful, so I did read the whole book.
I loved this book! The twist and turns make it hard to put down!
Excellent story about the struggle between good and evil within one's self.
Super fast thriller. I couldn't put this one down. What a great storyline and twist.
very well written. I think I may have found a new favorite author. a real page turner for sure.
I am so glad this book is over. The writer brings you through so many emotions just to give you an ending that makes you say "what?"
Totaly unexpected ending, keeps you going. Dekker writes to keep you on your toes.
I love Dekker's books! It has suspense, a great story of good and evil and none of the nasty crap! Great movie too! Highly recommend this book!
This one of my favorite books Ted Dekker wrote.I read this in a couple of days it was so good.
This was a good book, my first read by this author. I was hanging on - did not expect the twists and turns that I got.
I love Ted Dekker! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. You won't get the ending until the end!
I consider myself a lover of mysteries, and this is one of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors! This is a great mystery that always keeps you guessing, right up until the end!
Great ending! Just when you think you have it solved...
Wow, what a page-turner! This story follows seminary student Kevin, who is being terrorized by a man he comes to believe is an embittered, sadistic boy from his disturbed childhood. Kevin's best friend as a boy turns up to help him discover the identity of his tormentor and his reason for doing so. But not everything is as it appears, and the secrets hidden deep within Kevin eventually are exposed, causing the mystery and Kevin's torments to be put to rest. The theme of the story is that every person is caught in the struggle between good and evil. In fact, only the Christian has been freed to see and overcome his sin nature. But he must make the effort daily to kill sin, or sin will be killing him, as Puritan John Owen put it.
Seriously scary AND keeps you guessing to the end.
A really, really good plot with an unexpected ending! I'm going to order more from this author.
Wow--probably now a favorite of mine. I had been going through a "slump" in reading books (nothing seemed interesting to me) and I read this one and wow--I love reading again. The book was action packed--not one slow moment. I thought I knew who Slater was but I was totally wrong. Highly recommended and i'll probably rent the movie now. I have also added other Ted Dekker books to my reminder list!!
