A beautiful book of power, passion and ancient Gods. For Egyptian lovers only! This is the story of Cleopatra, historical Rome and Alexandria. All the battles, pageantry and supernatural powers that were a part of the ancient Mediterranean. Cleopatra was the most powerful woman of her time. She was wife to Julius Caesar and lover to Marc Antony. This is her story. Well researched and a splendid read. You will get your history lesson in a very easy to swallow and marvelously entertaining novel. I like historical fiction and this is fascinating era to read about. I enjoyed this book and sought out more by this author.
VERY good! I loved the details of the magic, the authenticity of the Dionysis/Isis marriage!
Slow-moving novel of Antony and Cleopatra, told through the viewpoint of one of Cleopatra's priestesses. Grounded in historical reality, it still emphasizes the storied love affair, but is also wound through with the ponderous military and political gamesmanship so essential to the saga.
