Sequel to Finney's time travel classic, Time and Again, this book begins with Simon Morley, our intrepid hero, back in the 1880's, the time he chose to stay in. But something happens that spurs him to temporarily leave his wife Julia and their son Willy in 1882 and head back to modern times--and then again to another time altogether! While I mostly enjoyed this book, I felt it got a bit draggy and repetitive in spots and it wasn't quite as compelling a read as Time and Again. The book raises some interesting questions: if you could go back in time and change a few small things that would ultimately change history and affect the world you live in today in unfathomable ways, would you do it?

A long-awaited and exciting sequel to Time and Again (S.&S., 1986). Finney returns to the secret government project that studies time through time travel. Undercover agents Si Morley and Rubin Prien continue to test Dr. E.E. Danziger's theory: the past still exists and can be reached. In the previous book, Si left the present to marry the love of his life, Julia, and live in the 1880s. Here, he becomes curious about the future and returns to the present to check on it. Sketches and photographs make the time and place come alive. This is a real page turner, loaded with nostalgia, detail, suspense, and a mind-boggling ending, but it is necessary to have read the first book to appreciate it.

Discovering a sequel to Time and Again was sheer delight. So enjoyed that read that I really looked forward to this one. If you want to immerse yourself in another era, I don't believe that there is another writer who does it so well complete with black and white photos of the time. One becomes reacquainted with Simon (Si) Morley who is able to move from one time span to another. Living in the 1800s with his beautiful wife and son, he decides to come back to visit the era in which he was born. A man from the project in which he was originally involved has become obsessed with the idea that WWI could have been prevented. That is Si' s new assignment. The story unravels from this point when he discovers that Roosevelt had sent an ambassador with a message to Europe. The ambassador never returns and WWI commences. Si and this individual must be the only ones who do not know who the ambassador was or that he perished on the Titanic. Thus the next task is to avoid the sinking of the great ship. Good fast read.

I enjoyed this book, the historical aspect was very enjoyable. You should get the first book Time and Again written 1970. This book Time to Time is the sequel written in 1995.

This is a sequel of Time and Again . Very enjoyable reading about the early 1900's and the attitudes and lifestyles feel just right. Good jump from the 1880's to 1912 to the present day. The Titanic also figures into the story and it is very poignant and realistic. Very good story.
