My knowledge of Patrick Swayze was limited to his movies Dirty Dancing and Ghost. But, this book shows a man who was tough but tender as well as multi talented. A beautiful tribute to a life cut way too short.

This book, quite simply put, will touch your heart. Patrick Swayze was a gentleman through and through - and this book shows that to an even more extent. No more words are necessary - if you are a Patrick Swayze fan (and even if you are not) - this book is worth reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Time of My Life by Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi. I had a hard time putting it down! Patrick and Lisa have really put alot of work into this beautifully written book. I've admired Patrick since Dirty Dancing. Now that I've read this book I have a better understanding of the man and of his and Lisa's relationship. It's such a shame that he passed so soon. I'm glad they wrote this book. I loved it!

If you are a devout Patrick Swayze fan then this book is likely for you, however if you are a casual watcher, a Dirty Dancing fan or Ghost fan, then really you know all you want to know. This book is written like all other Hollywood biographies alot of name dropping and a dissertation on the greatest of the author. It appears to be written by a preschooler and is a very quick read. There is nothing wrong with the book, but I just wanted to get done with it which to me is the measure of a boring book.

If I wasn't a fan of patrick swayze before, after I read both of the books, I certainly am now. I'm in the process of watching all of the movies that he was in that was listed in the book. What a wonderful man and a great actor.
Interesting how honest he was about the different roles that he played but I felt like this book changed my impression that I had of him. With all of thre great experinces that he was able to do because of his career it seemed like he was never happy with what he had done in his lifetime.
I enjoyed reading the book. I was hoping that it had more info about his cancer but it was nice to read about his career as well.
Patrick Swayze was the young man every girl wanted in the eighties, I know, I was one. And interesting, informative and sometimes surprising look in to the life of eighties heart throb Patrick Swayze. I though I knew him, not even! If you loved and watched Patrick in the eighties you'll love this book. Easy read.
Heartbreaking at times, but through this felt like Patrick had come to peace with his life and had lived it well, despite his own personal mistakes and the tragedies in his family. A true love story between Patrick and Lisa. Really enjoyed the read as I have and continue to enjoy Patrick's screen work. If you are a Swayze fan, you should read this book..
Loved it, Loved it & that's all I have to say:)
Patrick Swayze's memoir, The Time of My Life, co-written with Lisa Niemi, left me somewhat underwhelmed. The book's plain tone seemed at odds with the larger-than-life persona I expected from the iconic actor and dancer. Despite his undeniable talent and charismaâevident in his stellar performances and impressive physiqueâSwayze's personal struggles, particularly his smoking and alcohol use, are starkly at odds with his public image.
It was surprising to learn about his smoking habits, which reportedly reached up to three packs a day. This habit, coupled with his smoking in his own planeâa risky practice that, due to tar buildup, almost led to a dangerous incidentâpaints a troubling picture of his approach to health. Such details cast a shadow over his otherwise remarkable career and physical prowess.
Moreover, the memoir touches on Swayze's frustrations about not being taken seriously in his roles, which comes across as a bit self-pitying. Instead of delving deeply into his personal growth or his caring nature, the narrative feels more focused on his struggles with career recognition and his intense drive for success. While the love for his wife is evident, the portrayal lacks the depth that might have showcased a more nuanced, caring side of his character.
Overall, The Time of My Life provides insight into Swayze's life but doesn't quite capture the dynamic personality that many fans, including myself, expected. It's a candid account, yet it might not resonate with readers looking for a more engaging or emotionally rich exploration of his life and career.

Recieved this shortly after he died.I enjoyed it very much RIP Patrick swayze
I could not get into this book. I was a big patrick swayze fan.
Just saw the musical Dirty Dancing, and my girlfriend told me that I had to read this - she was right! They had a lot of rough times, but also a true love, and were true partners through thick and thin. Really lovely read.
