Time is a River is a great novel about a woman learning to live as a breast cancer serviver. Mia's sister signs her up for a trip to the North Carolina mountains with a group of cancer servivers learning to fly fish. She returns home to find her husband in bed with another woman. Her retreat back to the mountains and her hunt for the truth about the woman who once lived in the cabin and was accused of murder helps Mia to heal. Mia continues to develop her skills as a fly fisher woman, makes new friends in the area, finds romance and discovers her true self. If you love nature and a good mystery, this is the book for you. It was a page turner for me all the way.

I read almost 200 pages of this book before I finally just gave up. No murders yet, just talk about fly fishing.

One of the most well-crafted stories I've ever read.....detailed and enticing, this story wraps itself around you and doesn't let you go until the final page. And even then, you'll be wishing for a sequel so that we find out what happens next in their lives!

A heartwarming tale of a breast cancer survivor finding herself and finding romance through the unlikely art of fly fishing. I LOVED this book! It was my first experience with Mary Alice Monroe's writing, but it will NOT be my last. Ms. Monroe has the ability to create a great story line woven with a bit of mystery and adventure. Great characters, so real you will feel as if you've met them before! Ms. Monroe's writing reminds me a little of Anne Rivers Siddons. I say that as a compliment as Ms. Siddons is another great story teller that I admire very much!
As a breast cancer survivor, I adored this book! For me, it was a fast read. I had trouble putting it down. I was captivated with its charm!
