I enjoyed the Callaghan and other sci-fi stories, but the author also included speeches he made to honor Robert Heinlein and as Fan Guest of Honor at Minn-STF and the first book review column he wrote for Galaxy. One feels that maybe he was "padding" the volume. Speeches (I feel) are like Kleenex: one-time use.

The puns are fabulous, and the origin story of Ralph von Wau Wau was moving. Like George, (the dog in Lost and Found by Alan Dean Foster) Ralph didn't ask for the gift of speech, but he deals with it the best he can.
