Our main character, Michele, time travels back to NYC during 1910, 1925 and 1944. This book is Ms. Monir's first novel she does a wonderful job capturing the different time periods as well as creating a current plausible present day. Even though it was a YA our main character was not a whiny teen. She left a good cliffhanger for book 2.

When Michele's mother is killed in a car accident, she finds herself being sent across the country to live with her grandparents. She has never met them before, and can't fathom why her mom would have named them as her guardians. Long ago, her mother had disobeyed her parents and ran away with the boy she loved. But Henry disappeared, leaving Marion alone and pregnant.

Life with Walter and Dorothy Windsor is different from everything Michele has ever known. Michele and her mom got by, but that was all. The Windsors, though, are rich. As in, old New York money rich. And Michele's bedroom once belonged to any number of young Windsor women.

It's in a locked drawer that Michele discovers a diary of one such Windsor teenager. With the diary and a strange key that Dorothy has given Michele, an unbelievable adventure begins.

Michele has dreamed of an unknown boy for a long time. The dreams seem so real, but Michele knows she has never met the boy with the captivating sapphire eyes. But when she lands in the world of the diary (100 years in the past!), she realizes that Philip Walker is the boy she has dreamed about. And only Philip and Michele's great-great aunt Clara can see Michele. Michele can travel from the past to the present, but Philip cannot travel with Michele.

Michele and Philip fall in love - but their love is doomed from the start. They can never exist 100% together in either world. And that's what makes the story so heartbreaking. They are meant to be together, but so many obstacles are in their way. Philip is ahead of his time and Michele seems a better fit for the past. Weaving throughout a handful of years, and different relatives, Michele tries to learn the meaning of the mysterious key, find a way to finally be with Philip, and discover why one other man can see her.

I absolutely *loved* TIMELESS! I was drawn into the unfortunate love of Michele and Philip. They are an amazing couple and I can't wait to see how the next part of their tale plays out! Of course, Ms. Monir leaves the story with a cliffhanger. If you've read and enjoyed Maurissa Guibord's WARPED, then you simply have to pick up TIMELESS. Maybe the author should have titled it "Breathless," because that's how the final pages will leave you.

Good but not great book about time travel. I wish pass this book to my DD as she is anxious to read it also. Quick easy read and more suitable for the teens.
