First in a trilogy, this story would appeal to fans of science fiction, alternative history and historical fiction, as most of the events take place in the 1940s. The main character travels through time to Hollywood in the 40s and spends time with John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable and Ian Flemming, among others. The author does not go into detail regarding the time travel process, so the book is not bogged down by physics. The storyline is not terribly deep and there are some predictable events, but the overall effect is a breezy, quick and very enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
