If you are beginning the training this is a good book to start with. If you're looking for help for an older toddler who pees by himself but having trouble with b/m, there are other books that will help better.

This method consists of using classical conditioning techniques to "train" a child to use a potty chair. I used it to try to train my eldest son. It was a horrible fiasco. To call it a frustrating experience is putting things mildly. I'm convinced that any normally bright child with opinions is going to see through these techniques within an hour and come to resent the person who is withholding reward pending performance.
In our case, by the end of that first day, we were not feeling too kindly towards each other - in fact, we were both in tears. In the end, we put things aside and let them rest for long enough that he got over his aversion to the entire subject, at which time he decided that he wanted to do things like adults did, and things progressed in a much more healthy manner.

This book worked like a charm with both my son and daughter. It did take more than a day, and after about 3 days I was so worn out by the whole process. All of a sudden though (about 2-3 days in) they started doing it and it was worth all the time and effort.
I do think that it would be hard to use on a child that you've already used other methods with, or a child who is 3 or older. But if you have a child around 2-2 1/2 that's never tried potty training before it will work like a charm. I've passed it on to all my friends with lots of success.
Good Luck!

I bought this book when it first came out and used this method with my last child. The result - it worked! I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling to get their child out of diapers for good.

I found a lot of the tips in this book to be helpful when potty training all three of my kids!

I didn't completely follow all instructions in this book when training my 3 kids but it did provide alot of helpful tips to common problems. It was recommeded by relative who did follow step by step with great success. As each child is different it's just nice sometimes to have some extra tips to help you along the way!

The book provides a ton of detail (maybe too much) but the method works! A great approach to toilet training.

This method worked pretty well! Took a little longer than a day for us, but still worked.

This book is true to its name! It includes detailed intstructions with pictures and will have your child trained and able to use the bathroom independently. This is a book every mother should have.
slightly outdated
i myself could not get my 3 yr old trained at all with this book.she just could care less about any of it..lol. you may do wonderful with your little one.
I read this book and then a couple other books. Everything taught in this book is advised NOT to do in all the other books. I don't think I will be using this method for training.
Some good ideas.
My daughter likes this for its target audience.
Directions on how to potty train in less than a day. Could be useful, if you follow it, I suppose.
