ouch... hate that when it happens; and a gotcha happens to all of us one time or other
I took a nap in my Lazy Boy armchair this morning. I was wearing a red sweatshirt and white long johns of the male variety because long johns of the female variety are difficult to find in my size. I think I look Christmasish. The door bell rang. I was thinking that the ringee would probably think no one was home because I was taking my time to answer. I finally roused myself from underneath my fleece throw. I shouted, "Whose there?' and no one answered. I went to the door thinking the mailman had probably left a package. He does that, rings the door bell and leaves a package. So, I opened the door, thinking I would be safe. We live on a quiet street. During the middle of the day not that many people are around. The tutor and her 2 kids were in the neighborhood and had stopped by to pick up DD. The tutor was in her car, about ready to drive off. The tutor gets out of her car and comes half-way to my door, telling me she is looking for DD. I summarized that DD and her dad had already left for the tutor's house. I stood half-hidden by my door, saying they must be already gone. I asked DH later and he says these long johns do not look like white Capri's, even from a distance. Thank goodness the tutor and I are of the same mind-set, she was probably just laughing at me as she drove off. |
