A wonderful, lighter story from one of America's best novelists. You'll enjoy every minute of the ride.
Love, sex, romance, brotherhood, funny this book has it all.
Could not put this down! O'Brien has a way with words! Laughed out loud many times!
I enjoyed it thouroughly - beautiful prose, very funny, sometime painful and always unexpected plot twists and turns. Read it in just two days after swapping it here.

kickass!
o'brien has proven to be a great dramatist with in the lake ot the woods and the things they carried. i was so enchanted by this novel, i read it straight through. i laughed out loud many more than one time, and distributed it throughout the friend pool. buy it, borrow it, steal it; just read it.

"...but words will never hurt me"
Tim O'Brien is a master storyteller. Time and again his novels plumb the depths of the human psyche and heart, trying to figure out what makes his characters tick. And more often than not, his characters are broken individuals, in search for who they truly are. Thomas Chippering, the narrator of "Tomcat in Love" is exactly that - a broken man who must come to terms with his broken marriage, as the only life he has ever known crumbles around him. Yet while sharing themes from some of O'Brien's other works, "Tomcat in Love" is a departure due to its comedic nature.

The titular Tomcat may be literature's most unreliable narrator. Self-centered, verbose, arrogant . . and undeniably funny as he wends his Quixotic way through a forest of females, all of whom (in his mind) lust endlessly for him, as he pines for his ex-wife and plots more and more outrageous ways to get her back.
