Tooth and Claw A Mystery Author:Nigel McCrery Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lapslie and his sergeant, Emma Bradbury, whom we first met in Still Waters (a ?stellar thriller??Entertainment Weekly), are back in an electrifyingly suspenseful new novel, chasing down one of the most fearsome, brilliantly terrifying characters to ever stalk the pages of a book. — After a year ... more »of working at home in order to control his synesthesia (the rare neurological condition that causes his brain to crosswire his senses), DCI Lapslie is summoned back to active duty to investigate the brutal murder of a well-known television reporter. He has no witnesses and no suspects, but in short order he has a second case on his hands: the death of a man in a train-station bomb explosion. To make matters worse, Lapslie begins to suspect that, despite all odds, the two high-profile cases may be connected. With the police brass pressing him for results, the media bearing down on him, and the synesthesia going wild (in addition to ?tasting? sound, he?s begun to ?hear? odors), Lapslie is reaching his breaking point, which will only move closer as he approaches the solution to what?s beginning to look like the crimes of an especially evil?and diabolically creative?serial killer.« less
Another great read by McCrery. Inventive storyline and very intersting characters make for a very enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
