This book basically just tells you what the nutritional value of each type of food is. I don't think anything in here was news-breaking.

Not really a "diet" book, per se. Lists 100 foods in different categories and lists the nutritional value, etc. You have the usual suspects such as salmon, cherries, almonds, etc. Gives recipes for each of the 100 foods listed. Basic and easy. Went through the book in one night while taking notes.

This snappy little book has some really helpful info about the foods, spices and drinks we consume and how they can affect our health. Let me give you an example: Eggplant. Most dieters would not consider this to be a good food for them.

However, Anna Selby tells the reader that if the eggplant is split the long way and baked in a tiny bit of oil, the dieter will get the taste without the calories. She explains the vitamins/minerals in this food and offers a diet-friendly recipe.

Then she offers a bit of interesting info for folks with osteoarthritis: Because this is in the nightshade family, do not eat this item because it increases inflammation!

Although I read lots of books on nutrition and dieting, this book offered extra information that makes it a valuable addition to anyones book shelf.
