While I've enjoyed all of Upfield's books about "Bony," I did find the ending of this book somewhat unsatisfying. You don't have to read his "Bony" novels in order, but. if you read this one first, don't let it deter you from reading the others.

The Upfield Napoleon Bonaparte series give a great feel for the setting of early to mid 20th century Australia but are generally a little weak in plot. Good light read.
