I must say right up front that if you took out all the âTwilightâ references, the author would still have an awesome book with great âlove helpâ. She just uses the Twilight books and movie as perfect examples of what true love is or is not. And she nailed it.
She points out the differences between healthy love (God) and unhealthy love and relationships (Bella and Edwards love). It took me a while to watch the movie in the first place. But after reading this book, it really brought some things to my attention. I could see exactly what the author was talking about. I could really see how a young lady would think that âthis is what true love looks likeâ when in truth, it's just a game of manipulation (in my personal opinion).
Even if you have not watched the movie or read the book(s), you can read this book and get so much information about God's love and how he meant for us to share our love with a spouse. So if you want a short read on God's love, then try this book out.

Very good book, especially for teens who are Christians who might have read the books or are interested in them, perhaps. If you have teenagers who've read them/want to read them, I highly recommend this book. I am a grown woman with little kids who got "dragged" into reading the Twilight series after the first couple movies had already come out. I thoroughly enjoyed the books, but even remember thinking (particularly about Eclipse) I wouldn't want my daughter to read these as a teenager. I think having had experience with love & marriage, you can see that these books are FICTION - that the idea of soul-mates is (to me) an unrealistic and dangerous one and that much of Bella's obsession with Edward smacks of codependency to me! But, nevertheless, as an escape into a fictional world, I (like most women who've read them) love Stephanie Meyer's characters and enjoyed watching their love progress from infatuation to marriage to defending their child against threats, etc.
That being said, this book does not condemn the Twilight series, even applauds certain aspects of it, but takes a very realistic look at why we should be careful about allowing our daughters (and our sons)to immerse themselves in this type of literature without engaging them in some honest discussion at the same time. She includes some insightful questions to start conversations about the books' themes and gives a thorough detailed review of each book, should you not wish to read them but still want to know what they contain. Good biblically-based critique as well. On the whole a quick, enjoyable read as it reaffirmed my Christian beliefs about love, passion and the hope of new life!

Frankly I hate it. I was looking forward to this book in finding both good and bad values from the opinions of a Biblical perspective of author Beth Felker Jones. Yet what I found was that with every opinion that she put out there I felt was twisted and incorrect. Her views of fate and true love, as well as jealousy were just the beginning of my irritation and extreme differences of opinion. Continuing on with taking things that are good in comparison to most fiction readily available to our teens today and making it appear to be masked evil is just annoying. I'm frustrated with this book because I was expecting something so much better. But then I'm just one opinion and look for the light within the darkness and not the darkness within the gray areas.
