I'm only halfway through this book but I can tell you without hesitation that this is a book you MUST READ if you have any doubts regarding what occurred on 9/11/01. A couple of years ago, I listened to tapes from governmental agencies that were made as people in those offices scrambled desperately to understand what was happening; those tapes were real. So far in this book, I've discovered that there was another United plane (United 23) that had four men on board whose luggage contained box cutters and Al Qaeda literature; these men WALKED AWAY from this flight because New York CLOSED the airports and that plane NEVER TOOK FLIGHT, but there's no doubt in the pilot's mind that his flight (a wide body) would have been NEXT. Much worse could have happened than the nightmare that DID. Conspiracy theorists have been suggesting (to their credit, not without some circumstantial evidence) that this disaster was planned and executed by the administration in office at the time. However, this doesn't seem plausible. IF such conspiracy existed, what did it ACHIEVE? The Republicans are NOT IN the Presidency today. One would think that such an elaborate scheme perpetrated upon the American public would have eventually resolved into a dictatorship, at most, and (least) a signed and sealed "deal" that the Presidency remain in that camp: WOULDN'T ONE?

Well written, researched and readable to the civilian and pilot alike. Some aviation knowledge is helpful but certainly not a deal breaker. The aviation specific information is well described.
A terrific work that brings all the aviation elements of 9/11 together. Difficult to set down. Thought provoking as relates our preparedness. We've come a long way since.
Highly recommended.
