Pamela M. (Pyan) reviewed Touchstones : A Book Of Daily Meditations For Men (Meditation Series) on + 106 more book reviews
I purchased this for my husband at his doctor's suggestion, but he never reads it so I'd like to make available for someone who would appreciate it's value.
In looking through and reading it myself, I found it provides comfort without being sugary, and each entry is thoughtful with a the low-key approach. There's a wide range of sources quoted from Mark Twain to Goethe, and many many more.
From browsing the pages and reading various entries, I believe that it would be helpful to anyone, regardless of one's spiritual orientation ... or lack of same.
Amazon Description
Speaking straight to men who are striving for serenity or trying to maintain emotionally and spiritually balanced lives, these daily touchstones begin with quotations from sources as varied as William Shakespeare, Wendell Berry, Michael Spinks, and Woody Allen and conclude with affirmations that underscore the lessons of intimacy, integrity, and spirituality. They explore the masculine role of lover or spouse, father or friend and, like a helping hand extended, ease the daily strain of making a man's way.
