A delightful, easy-to-read book. Peter Mayle's writing shares various adventures of the provencal lifestyle, & surroundings and eating habits with a special flair. A few laughs are tucked within Mayle's writing. You will be glad you read the book.
A good book, but not nearly as much fun as A Year in Provence.
"Toujours Provence is a heart-warming portrait of a place where, if you can't quite 'get away from it all,'you can surely have a good time trying."
Awesome writer. He explains the most beautiful place in such expressive terms. Makes you want to go there.
This follow-up to A Year in Provence is delightful. We get to find out what happened to many of the central characters from the first novel, and though it lacks a bit of the whim that the first novel contained, it's still an enjoyable read (if you read the first novel).
Of course its good!!! Peter Mayle never fails to satisfy....and he makes up want to show up at his front door and stay awaile. Or at least travel to Provence.
Excellent!
The next book after Mayle's A year in Provence.
Sequel to A Year in Provence. The first was better, but this was good too.
I loved this book! It's a lot of fun to read and you'll laugh aloud in some places. It's like a trip to Southern France.
Don't we all love Provence and wish we were there? This book is filled with interesting stories about life in this beautiful place.
Currently my favorite author.
It was a great book. I loved reading new adventures of his time in France.
keep a pad next to you and take notes as you read this. plan your trip to Provence even if it's just in your dreams. I am going soon and found this book not only informative but entertaining. i have already ordered two of his other books regarding Provence and can hardly wait for them to arrive.
This is a wonderful book. It's full of interesting characters and makes you want to live in Provence. After reading his first book, "A Year In Provence" I went out and bought a bottle of Herbs de Provence.
LOVED IT! Mayle does such a wonderful job of involving the reader in his stories. You feel like you are right there in the Luberon with him and his wife. Reading this will definitely get your wanderlust stirring.
As A Year in Provence, this book is a delightful read with several adventures. "Buying Truffles from Monsieur X" was my favorite. The illustrations are very good.
