"I was approached by a man who asked me for a couple of coppers to help towards the price of a can of beer. As I put my hand in my pocket for some change, he said: "God bless you' when he saw that I was giving him a pound note he said "Very God bless you" with a wide smile on his face. I stayed in his company for ten minutes and was amazed at the praise he poured on the people of Glasgow tor their generosity and the scorn he poured on the cold and wet Glasgow climate.
