Edge of the seat thriller. With the recent breach of security at the State Dinner by party crashers it makes you wonder if the scenario in this book is possible!
Helpful Score: 1
Another good thriller by Flynn. Terrorists have taken over the White House and the President is in a bunker. A lot of good suspense as two "good guys" find a way in to the White House and take down the terrorists.
Excellent book. The book was pretty slow to get into the action at first, but the book was great once I got to the middle. I love how the points of view constantly change from the terrorists, to Stansfield, to Kennedy, to Mitch Rapp, and to others. The book definitely captures emotions. I rate this book 5 stars and recommend this book and series to anyone. The series only gets better!

Fast paced and action packed. A very good read.
Fairly typical Flynn novel, good if you like the political / spy / intrigue genre.
Once you start reading the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn, you will be hooked into finishing the series. I just wish this country had some real Mitch Rapp's to take on the terrorist around the world.
I usally read about 100 pages per day. This book has 549 pages and I read it in two days. A great read.
Another EXCELLANT book by Vince Flynn. I started reading this while on vacation in Vegas...and I can't put it down.
I love every one of Vince Flynn's books. Mitch Rapp is a predecessor to Jack Bauer and 24. You will love his no nonsense attitude. Flynn has some kind of "in" into the CIA and these books are very authentic. He's even been called into the CIA director's office and praised for his works (all from an interview with Flynn on Imus in the Morning). Read any of them but it's better in order to see what makes Rapp, Rapp. Transfer of Power is the first Mitch Rapp novel.
I thought this book was pretty fast paced. It was interesting to see all the politics involved when the president was in danger. The only issue I had was that there were a lot of people to remember. But I read the book quickly and am going to read more about these characters.
Flynn's Mitch Rapp character is great!
One has to wonder during the reading, could something like this ever happen!
Loved the book. There was action from the first sentence on.
In this political thriller staged almost entirely around a hostage standoff, and mixes in a spicy broth of brutal terrorists, heroic commandos and enough secret agent hijinks to keep the confrontation bubbling. The villains are led by Rafique Aziz, a notorious Arab terrorist who takes over the White House as he poses as awealthy campaign contributors and is welcomed through the front door. President Robert Hayes manages to escape to his bunker, but religious zealot Aziz takes almost 100 hostages, seals off the White House and begins making demands. With the president incommunicado and weak-willed yet power hungry Vice President Sherman Baxter in charge, the Pentagon and the CIA resort to their secret weapon: commando extraordinaire Mitch Rapp. Thrilling book at the start of a series of Mitch Rapp books.
This was a very good book. Great storyline. As a previous Special Operations soldier, I found it both realistic and believable with respect to how the author dealt with all things associated with the SpecOps elements.
Like all of Flynn's books the action and suspense are exceptioal. Be prepared there comes atime when you will not be able to put the book down
I love Mitch Rapp books!! They keep you on the edge of your seat and you don't want to put them down! I have read the entire series several times and they never get boring!
A fast paced action thriller.
Mitch Rapp is a WINNER !
Mitch Rapp is a WINNER !
Excellent read from a man who was a technical consultant to the TV series 24!
Great read! Kept me on the edge of my seat every page.
This is the first book that I have read by Vince Flynn. I enjoyed it very much. I am impressed by his writing style and skills. His subject was timely and the story believable. His characters are well developed. I hope he keeps many of the same characters from story to story. The main character, Rapp, in "Transfer of Power" is the sort of character that one wants to revisit time and again.
Received in excellent conditions--good job!
I'm hooked on Vince Flynn's books starring Mitch Rapp. It's a thrilling read and I've learned so much about how our government works. I would suggest you read them in order. I started in the middle of the series but have backtracked to start at the beginning. The books are fast to read with short chapters so there's lots of convenient stopping points. I highly recommend this book.
Loved the book soo much, thank you.....
Great book. Fast moving plot with interesting characters. Well written.
Looking forward to reading more Vince Flynn books.

I loved this book. It was a great summer read. It reminded me of when I used to watch 24. The main character was very Jack Bauer-ish. Really enjoyed it!
Wow! This is the first book in Flynn's Mitch Rapp series. It is also the first of the series that I have read although I did read his first novel "Term Limits" which I thought was a superb action/thriller. In "Transfer of Power," a group of terrorists captures the White House along with about 100 hostages. The president has made it to his secure bunker in the White House with several Secret Service agents, but how secure is it? Mitch Rapp, a CIA operative, is sent in through the heating system to assess the situation and find a way to rescue the President and the hostages. This is non-stop action at its best and it includes the inner workings of the CIA, the Army's Delta Force, Navy Seals, the FBI, and the joint chiefs, along with the less than competent politicians of the administration. I would highly recommend this one and I am looking forward to reading others in the series. I know Vince Flynn died last year but I hear the Rapp series will be continued by another writer. Hopefully, the new stories will measure up to Flynn's!
Exciting, stimulating, and suspensful. The story and the characters are engaging. This is a page turner for sure.
Good action and plot; superspy story.
Well written, but the protagonist really just happens to have things work out. He doesn't really do much, pro-actively.
One is a series of Flynn novels. A great read. Get all the Flynn novels and track the adventures of the main character, Mitch Rapp.
Great read - Top CIA operative Mitch Rapp series.
ploitical thrillers is are my secret love...LOL and i've now collected most of Vince Flynns books
this one is a good one. terrorist take the white house and have the president stuck in a new bunker and the communications between them and the outside world is jammed.
of course, there is our hero Mitch Rapp and another 2 unsuspected heroes.
so as yo might have guessed, this book is about storming the white house and all the political workings behind the scenes.

a good read!
A political conspiracy thriller in the white house
On a busy Washington morning, the stately calm of the White House is shattered in a hail of gunfire. A group of terrorists has descended on the executive mansion and gained access by means of a violent slaughter of dozens of people. Through the quick actions of the Secret Service, the president is evacuated to his underground bunker, but not before nearly one hundred hostages are taken.
what if america's most powerful leader was also its prime target?
Flynn has done it again with the fast-paced political thriller. With just hours counting before terrorist can get to the President, Mitch Rapp is fighting against all odds to get to him first. Excellent read!!
Mitch Rapp - great read.
A great action writer ! I haven't been disappointed by Vince yet...
Good Read
This is more action by Mitch Rapp. Terrorists take the White House and MItch is called in to help save the President
Mitch Rapp of the CIA fights to keep terrorism from taking over the White House. A political thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Another Flynn page turner. Fast paced, riviting.
I'm addicted to Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp character. All the Mitch Rapp books are exciting.
Just another by a great author.
Great book, this is the first book I have read from this author and I am now going to read all of his books.
Another interesting chapter in the Mitch Rapp series. Another good thriller.
I couldn't put the book down.
What if America's most powerful leader was also its prime target ?
A group of terrorists has descended on the executive mansion.
A group of terrorists has descended on the executive mansion.
Mitch Rapp runs terrorists out of the White House
A slick political thriller. Terrorists endanger the US President's life.
A SUPRISINGLY GOOD BOOK ABOUT A PRETTY COMMON SUBJECT. I CAN SEE WHY MR. FLYNN WAS ON THE NEW YORK BEST SELLER LIST.
Mitch Rapp again saves the day. This time in D.C.
Good on going story of Mitch Rapp. A must for the continued saga of Mitch Rapp.
The President of The United States is endangered when terrorists descend on the executive mansion..
Good read
This Vince Flynn series is very well written. The Tom Clancy of the next generation!
Vince Flynn books are so special - it's so sad that he has passed away. He catches your attention and it's almost impossible to stop reading until that last page is turned. My favorite author and he'll be yours, too.
On a busy Washington morning, the stately calm of the White House is shattered as terrorists gain control of the executive mansion. Very believable, good read.
Although the action spots are interesting, overall the writing tends to be overblown and angry, coming across more as propaganda than literature. The characters are unlikable and unbelievable, and they seem to rely too heavily on bullying through rather than exploring the intelligent side of the Intelligence community. It's a fast read, but I still wish I could get the hours it took to read it back.
A group of terrorists descends on the White House, slaughtering dozens of people. The President is evacuated to his underground bunker. Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top counterterrorism operataive, moves among the corridors and secret passageways of the White House and makes a chilling discovery. Someone in the government is trying to foil the President's rescue.
My copy is an older printing. The cover is not the same as sample.
A Mitch Rapp thriller. A great read, could not put down. This is a June 2000 edition.
