I like this series, although the murders are a little more graphic than in most cozies. The small town feel of the series is what I like best about it. It's easy to get to know the characters and get a feel for the town.
I like that the author doesn't make it too obvious who the killer is in her books - it allows me to read along and think about the clues and try to guess who it might be.

This series is a wonderful mix of excellent story-telling, realistically likeable people, and well thought out plots. The home repair hints aren't bad either. Each book leaves me wanting more. I didn't read them in order; that would probably be best. So, even though I had to adjust me thinking to the timeframe of each book, they have all been thoroughly enjoyable.
