This is a mystery that creeps up on you. Interesting story about a hard-working woman who, in order to maintain her own household after her husband is laid off, starts a business cleaning up homes where there has been a "trauma" - typically a murder or two or three. She also works at a small cosmetics company for a boss who's interested in more than her sales figures (wink, wink). In only 218 pages, Masterson draws you into this woman's life, makes you feel the potential she has for making it on her own, and the weight of her reality and responsibilities. You're given glimpses into the lives of other families, brutally ended, the traces of death wiped clean. The author wraps it all up with an unexpected twist of a mystery at the end. Quick, interesting and enjoyable little story.

She's a working wife and mother. Her job is to make domestic crime scenes pritty abain. She uses only the best upholstery cleaners, disinfectants, deodorizers, and stain removers. But washing away a stranger's sins can be quite a chore. Considering what she sees every day, the stories she's heard, and what she knows about the evil that men do, it must take a lot to disturb a woman like Bonnie Winter.

Unusual plot line. Very different G. Masterton. Has very little of his grainy , scary descriptives in it. Fast read, although you may need to re-read some sections to keep the timeline in check.

This is an interesting book about a lady who works cleaning up crime scenes and a situation gone horribly awry. It did take a really long time for the actual story to develop for me, though. The twist at the end was very good.
