Great cozy mystery in an alternative England with an intrepid female protagonist more snarky than usual. Much recommended as a fun read.
A Treacherous Curse (the third of the Veronica Speedwell mysteries) by Deanna Raybourn is an easy and enjoyable read. The book can stand alone but does carry forward the characters and relationships of the previous books in the series. A mystery. A budding romance. Strong, independent characters. These are the features running through both books in this series that I have read. I look forward to following them on Veronica and Stoker's next adventure, if only to see where the relationship goes.

Once again a spectacular read with lots of different scenarios taking place but all to a satisfying climax. Interesting information about the fad of the times of everything Egyptian, but not so much as to weigh down the story and become dull. Veronica Speedwell is definitely a woman ahead of her time!
