The Treasures of Venice is a captivating story of romance, suspense, and historical legend. Painted against a beautiful backdrop of romantic Venice, Loucinda McGary quickly draws you in with the legend of the Jewels of the Madonna. The suspense mounts as the legend is unfolded, and the characters are drawn vividly and honest, full of courage and integrity. I was entranced from page one and loved it!

Excellent Escapism!
Loucinda McGary really takes you on a merry chase through all of Venice. The intrigue is intense and the dialogue is delightful. The flashbacks to the original lovers who created the mystery are just as engaging as the two contemporary strangers who are drawn together by chance/fate.
The author offers a true sense of place and keeps you hooked on the action as well as the sexual attraction. Librarians deserve to be presented as strong, smart and sexy!
Highly recommended - I'm ready for my next adventure with Loucinda McGary!

I enjoyed this book -- it's a fast-moving mystery/romance that takes place in one of my favorite cities. The characters are believable and realistic, the mystery is ... well ... mysterious.

Quick, easy, interesting read. Nice blend of mystery, history & romance. I liked the chemistry between Sam & Kiernan, sometimes there is no explaination for the right thing, it just is. I enjoyed Sam, she does spend much of the book thinking "what have i gotten myself into. this isn't me" but I didn't find it annoying or overdone, because I'd probably be thinking the same thing if I was going through what she was. Kiernan is an easy character to like, I don't know how to explain it, but I'm sure it has something to do with his physical description ~ Dark hair & sapphire blue eyes :), and the fact that he can speak Gaelic. The secondary characters add nicely to the story, especially Kathleen who brings a slice of humor with her.
