Jack Reacher - how to describe him? You want him as your protector, your brother, your lover. And yet there is that place where he is almost too scary to have around while you are sleeping. The character grows in this book and we find out more about his Army family than we have before.

I only recently began reading Lee Child's Jack Reacher books. Every one so far has been a page turner that I cannot put down. This one was no different. I love the strong, intelligent character of Reacher and that I cannot anticipate all the twists and turns the plot will make, or the final outcome. So many books of the genre are predicable from beginning to end, but so far not with Lee Child's books.

I have been reading the Reacher novels in order. This is the 3rd in the series and it seems like they are getting better and better. This one was fast-paced as usual, it introduced a love interest for Reacher, and it had a very despicable bad guy. Another high recommendation for a great series!

I've read nearly all of the Jack Reacher novels and have loved every one. But this one stands out and I enjoyed it tremendously. Very involving, deeply thought-provoking. The hero is fabulous; the bad guy is really evil. Enjoy!

Thriller that deals with Vietnam issues. Great book. Nice twist at the end.

Child does it again. This was the best Jack Reacher book so far because the mystery was so intriguing. I did not figure it out until Reacher revealed the answer at the end of the book. That's what I call a well written mystery.

Engrossing premise established in a two page prologue. Starts strong, ends strong, with some gaps in the middle.

If you like mystery, murder, gross violence, sprinkled with a bit of romance then you will love this book. The drifter Jack Reacher gets into the middle of this army related crime. I think this is one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Always a pleasure to read about Jack Reacher, however, the answer to this one was a little too out of left field for me. Still, a must read to complete the series.

Jack Reacher never disappoints me with all the military secrets he gets caught up in and the is no exception. A former military friend dies and leaves him in the middle of the mystery he was trying to solve along with the daughter he has known nearly all his life and realizes he loves her.

It's another Lee Child page turner. In some respects it was more satisfying than the first two books of the series. I plan to read the whole Jack Reacher series. This one had the same technique of writing what was happening in simultaneous locations. He knows how to build suspense and the ending had a surprise.

My husband asked me to get "Killing Floor" for him because he heard it was good. I got it but then decided to read it myself...and I've been hooked ever since. "Tripwire" has the right amount of action, suspense and drama. It keep you guessing and doesn't feel dated at all. I high recommend it!

Jack Reacher is enjoying a relatively quiet life in Key West when a PI comes looking for him. Reacher later finds th PI dead. Being Reacher, he goes investigating and ends up in the midst of a huge coverup which takes him from New York to the Midwest, and to Hawaii. My second Lee Child book, but not my last.

Lee Child does not disappoint the reader in any way, shape or form. He is constantly interjecting a new angle to the plot that twists the storyline to greater heights. This book is definately a "good read."

Excellent complex plot that held my interest to the end. This is the third of the Jack Reacher series--I will be reading more.

you'll love Jack Reacher

Great story! Kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. Lee Child definitely knows how to hold his audience captive.
I love all the Jack Reacher books. This one kept me on the edge which I must enjoy as all my favorites seem to do.

This was my favorite Jack Reacher book yet. This was fast paced that had me wanting more every time I put the book down. Looking forward to reading the next one!

One more outstanding Jack Reacher story! Complete with a love interest and one despicable bad guy! Wow! How does Mr. Child even think of these things??!!!
A page turner just like all the other Reacher stories! Highly recommended.

It was a very enjoyable book as all the Jack Reacher series are
Jack Reacher series. Swift, stylish and suspensfull.
In Tripwire, Reacher's lazy anonymity in Key West is shattered by a stranger who comes to town searching for him. Hours after his arrival, the stranger turns up beaten to death in the Old Town cemetery, & Reacher is foreced to follow the man's cold trail back to New York to firnd the people who dispatched him in the first place: a bewildered & elderly couple still morning an all-American son lost in Vietnam; an alluring & intelligent woman from Reacher's own haunted past; and at the center of the web, the most vicious opponent Reacher has ever faced.

My first Jack Reacher book. I was addicted immediately. Fast paced, hard hitting action and really clever plot twists. This is not your mama's mystery book.
Jack Reacher Novel, A good read if you enjoy action/aventure.
I've just started this series and am really enjoying the books. So far, this was my favorite even though I figured out the plot twist fairly early in the book. A little less technically oriented than the two previous books. You get to see the more "human side" of Reacher and learn more about his history, but would recommend all three.
Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is in Key West enjoying his self. A stranger shows up asking lots of guestion--too many. Hours later, the man is dead. Good book.
Lee Child has the ability to describe a scene and it's characters so completely, you feel like you are in the scene! This Jack Reacher book hit new heights! A P.I. comes looking for someone named Jack Reacher in the Florida Keys. When Reacher denies knowing who that is, the P.I. goes away, but is found dead the next day. Who is looking for him? Why are they looking for him? He leads an invisible life. He never uses his real name, has no credit cards, driver's license, nothing. He decides to find out why a man was killed in a search for him. It takes Jack to NY and a meeting with a person from his past. All of a sudden assassins are everywhere! Someone wants them dead. It's related to a 30-yr old secret...the financial collapse of a corporation...an MIA from the Vietnam War...honoring a man who was like a father to Reacher...and a twisted, sadistic killer who will not be stopped! This book is so tense, so consuming, so real! It's a must read!
Typical Jack Reacher novel. Good plot, Enjoyable read.
Number 3 in the Jack Reacher series, I believe this is the best yet. It is full of suspense which keeps the pages turning.
Reacher uses his experience as a former military police investigator and we learn a bit more about his past.

Enjoyed it.
Another exciting Reacher novel.
This novel has 559 pages, but as the print is a bit larger then usual, the pages flew by. This is only my third "Jack Reacher" novel, but I read others at the same time as I dislike thrillers and books which have violence against women and children. Having said that, while it was hinted it might happen, that type of violence didn't occur. So at those points I only returned to the story when I was in a more forgiving mood.
As for the sex, Lee Child does have his protagonist engage in such in his books, but it is usually just referred to and not described in detail. I'm not a fan of detailed sex in books. When it occurs I figure the author has run out of good plot ideas.
In some ways this was the creepiest of the three I've read so far, as some things which happened "off screen" were disturbing to me.
And it seemed there was more filler in this one than the last two. I also wondered at some things which were left unresolved in the plot. And somehow I don't think they will be wrapped up in the next book, as, except for Jack Reacher, Child seems to bring in an entire new cast of characters with each novel. I guess I'll have to read the next one sometime to find out

Jack Reacher gets pulled into a tangled web of deception that revolves around his old boss,
Jack Reacher, an ex-military cop does his heroic magic again in this series. Very entertaining as usual. (One small note - parts of this book take place on the 88th floor of one of the Twin Towers. Clearly, the book was written prior to 9/11/2001 but the references to the World Trade Center, the 88th floor of all floors, and to the building's "noises", were a bit eerie for me.)
Reacher is noticeably different in this novel. It's a good read and explains a lot for future books.
How tough is Reacher?
this book is fast paced and exciting. I really liked it.
First time reading any of these books-really enjoyed it.I am usually more of a Science fiction/Fantasy reader, but these were fun. Love the Jack Reacher character, can't believe they picked Tom Cruise to play the part in the movie, he does NOT work for me at all! Anyway-these books were fun,and interesting.I will read more.
I love the series. Each one gets you more involved with the character of Jack Reacher.
This is the 5th book I've read by this author. I did not think it was quite as good as the others I have read - the relationship with the "long lost love" kept getting in the way of the plot and the author included a lot of expository paragraphs that slowed things down in a few places. There was an interesting twist near the end that I didn't expect, changing the identity of a main character.
I've read 5 of the Jack Reacher books so far, and this is my favorite. It has a really great villain and I had no idea about the final plot twist.
Jack Reacher, the hulking ex-soldier is again featured in this 3rd in series. Here, Reacher is incognito, living the life of a drifter and digging swimming pools in Key West. When a PI from New York comes looking for him, and shortly afterwards turns up dead, Reacher flies north and discovers that the instigator of the search is Leon Garber, his former army commanding officer who was helping an elderly couple to locate their son, who supposedly died in a helicopter crash during the Vietnam War. Great book and a must read.
Great book. Keeps you interested from cover to cover.
Third in the Jack Reacher series - I enjoyed it and can't wait to read #4.
Lee Child's books are comparable to Ludlum's
A very good exciting book.
More Jack--this time he's helping--and hunting!
Absolutely wonderful. Reacher just gets better and better.
A wonderful Jack Reacher novel.****
One of Child's best...but they're all good
Great read
Great Jack Reacher Story
Another great thriller by Lee Child. He always seems to come up with new ideas to keep me up all night reading.
My husband's the Lee Child's fan. He loved this book.
Lee Childs provides another exciting, enthralling book - I have a hard time putting them down in the middle.
Great Reacher. One of the earlier ones. More suspense, less violence.

I love Lee Child. But this book just never took off for me.
Reacher actually has a relationship and ends the book still with the girl! Meanwhile he has single-handedly overcome numerous bad guys and saved the girl and several others from gruesome deaths... of course, not everybody survives, but there's a touching scene at the end with the elderly parents.
Suspense fiction doesn't get much better than Tripwire. When Jack Reacher is tracked down by a private PI, Reacher's first response is to deny his identity. But when he finds the PI murdered, he sets out to find out who was trying to find him and why.
He quest takes him into a dark mystery that was set in motion years ago during the Vietnam war. His showdown with evil is inevitable, and when it happens, it's horrific.

This is one of my favorite authors. Really enjoyed this book.
Reacher is a great character. I love t6his series. Lee CXhild never gets old.
Great author! Great book!
Great book. One of my favorite authors.
I've enjoyed Lee Child in the past and Jack Reacher has been a favorite of mine. This however was not one of those that I really enjoyed. This just seemed to be 400 pages of not much happening, yet I read all the way through, thinking that this had to get better. Well other than the last two chapters, it really never did. This just never seemed to get off the ground for me. Oh, sure there were a few hot spots in there, but for me they seemed far and few between and never lasted long.... a long, slow tease that never materialized into anything more.
If this had been my first foray into the life of Jack Reacher, it probably would have been my last, but I know that Lee Child is so much better than this, that I will definitely be back for more.

I love the Jack Reacher novels! Each story is well-plotted and filled with characters who are interesting and believable. The action is non-stop and Reacher is a hero with almost superhuman powers. He is always a champion of the underdog and can take on and outsmart any bad guy who goes up against him. This is the best of all the Jack Reacher books I've read yet. I'll probably go into withdrawal once I've finished all of them.
The on-set of the story is mysterious--once started one is sure they have solved the mystery--but it's not until the end that the truth is revealed. A good read!!!
excellent! Very fast paced story in the Jack Reacher series.
While this is not as terrifying as some of Lee Child's other books, the story is gripping and hard to put down. So far it is my favorite.
Lee Child has done it again. Tripwire is a book I could not put down.
Excellent read.. find all in the series if you can
If you've read any of the Jack Reacher stories, and have missed this one, then this is one that you need to read. Awesome.
Lee Childs 3rd awsome book! I couldnt put this one down either. I LOVE Jack Reacher!
A Jack Reacher story that has you guessing until the end
Very suspenseful, with an unexpected ending. Another great Jack Reacher story.
Another great Reacher read!
Excellent book, just like all the others!!
Good plot line, excellent characters. The amin character Jack reacher is macho, gentle and one hell of a smart guy!!
An excellent thriller with enough twists to keep you guessing.
Another adventure novel with the hero, Jack Reacher, straing every muscle in his vast frame to fight the enemy.

And Reacher is forced to follow the man's cold trail back to New Uork to find the people who dispatched him in the first place: an alluring and intelligent women from Reacher's own haunted past; a bewildered elderly couple still mourning an all-American son lost in Vietnam; and at the center of the web, an opponent, more vicious than any he's ever faced.
I love the book, this is one of the "Jack Reacher" series, which do not necessarily have to be read in order.
This was the first Reacher book that I ever read and reads like it probably is the first book of the series with that character. A very tense ride from NY to Hawaii to Vietnam, from the present and back 30 years to an unpopular war. Initially I was not sure whether I would like the character or the book, but ended up loving both. The book was un-put-down-able once I got into it and I definitely want to read more about Reacher.
Another awsome Jack Reacher Novel! That says it all. Pat.
Excellent.
Keeps you in suspense! Great Jack Reacher read!
Third in the Jack Reacher series. Reacher has to end the machinations of a disgruntled VietNam vet.
Here's #3 for Jack Reacher, retired military cop extraorinaire! Story centers on an intriguing Vietnam vet with quite a twisted past. Plenty of blood and mayhem throughout. Another fast-paced winner in this great series.
The Jack Reacher series are great reading.
This was the best Jack Reacher book so far. I look forward to reading the next one.
This book seems to make Reacher even more human than in previous installations.
I enjoyed the read.
This book seems to make Reacher even more human than in previous installations.
I enjoyed the read.
Digging a swimming pool by hand in Key West, former military policeman Jack Reacher is not pleased when Costello, a private detective, comes nosing around asking questions about him. Determined to keep out of trouble, Reacher conceals his identity. But when he finds Costello dead with his fingertips sliced off, he realizes it is time to move on -- and move on fast. Yet two questions worry him: who was Costello's employer, the mysterious Mrs Jacobs? And why is she determined to find Reacher? Moreover, who is Hook Hobie, the vicious and amoral manipulator in a Wall Street office who preys on other people's assets? As Reacher follows the trail, it becomes clear that the stakes are high: the livelihood of a whole community; the fate of the soldiers missing in action in Vietnam; and, not least, the reappearance of a woman from Reacher's own troubled past with a key to his destiny.
Great story Jack Reacher is the best.
Another great "Reacher" novel.
This is my second novel by Lee Child involving his character Jack Reacher. I find the novels to be good reading and will be following up with all his adventures.
Enjoyed TRIPWIRE -- and all of Jack Reacher's journeys!
I really liked the first 2 Reacher books. I'm 100 pages into this one and thoroughly bored. I did not grab my attention like the others. It's very wordy and over-descriptive. I found myself skipping paragraphs, which I don't normally do. Book 3 is significantly longer than the previous 2. It seems to me like the publisher requested a longer book and the author obliged. Not for me, skipping to book 4, I hope it's better.
Reacher and Child getting into their stride. This installment in the Reacher series entrenches him solidly into the lexicon of literary annals as a hard as a rock guy riding in on white horses. Good storyline, great writing. I'm always awaiting to see what Reacher does next!
I like the Jack Reacher series....this one was good.
Unable to complete book. Not up to author's usual fast-paced, exciting standard but rather much handwringing and almost like teenage angst.
