There are times when we experience situations with our pets, or the pets of others, that truly have us wondering what happened. Sometimes these experiences are funny, sometimes amazingly touching and sometimes just bizarre.  Think back - do you have one of these stories you can share?

Let me lead off -

Somehow I managed to sleep in until about 10:30 on Valentine's Day morning. (Ah - the joys of retirement!)

What woke me was a polite mew? from my cat, LeeLoo. Figuring it was the usual alert for food, imagine my surprise when I spotted a small heart sticker stuck dead center on his forehead! I didn't believe what I was seeing.  Happy Valentine's Day!

LeeLoo and I do playtimes and opening the daily mail is one of his favorites. He loves envelopes and will proudly wear them whenever I put them on his head. I had gotten a few Valentines the day before and left the envelopes on the bed for him to play with. They were festooned with Valentine hearts. The rest was just dumb luck....

Oh this was adorable to find! I have never poked my nose in this forum and I am so happy I did tonight. What beautiful LeeLoo stories!

Most of my friends here on pbs know I got a new cat (a year ago yesterday!) and after going without one for too long, 'Raven' has been quite a prize. Not so much feral as a true wild child, she has kept me quite busy and often  pondering what the heck her intentions were....

She's a wild-eyed tortie aswirl in 4 colors: mostly black, with fawn, orange and a touch of white under her nose. She will never make the cat show circuit but there is truly a Siamese lurking back in her pedigree, as her profile is typical of the classic feline. She may be in actuality a guttersnipe or a street urchin, with her slightly bent tail, her little round belly, sporting ears that look dirty on the inside but are a pigment issue....but she is beautiful to me!

I haven't had the pleasure of a female cat for many, many years, and must admit that although she has got to be the naughtiest cat I have owned (okay - the 2nd naughtiest) her intelligence and huntress instincts always keep me on my toes. She learns new games I propose to her quickly, is fascinated with everything I do and is one of the funniest cats I have met. We play polo on linoleum floors that lasts forever, she loves "NOVA" and other animal documentaries on PBS, and "mousie". As she loves to push the poor mouse under dressers and other furniture, I had to buy 'stand-ins' from Amazon to keep her happy.

From coming to me as a scared and slighty edgy teenager, who didn't want me to pet her, didn't want to be picked up, who had a past of who knows what kinds of transgressions against her, plus spaying - and possibly a litter of kittens(?) - she has truly blossomed!

What are your stories to share? There are so many different kinds of cats and dogs and they are all interesting and in these truly troubled times, they make such a difference!

I lost my Molly back in September and one of my fondest memories is the day I came home from hand surgery and my sweet pup jumped onto the bed and crawled up to me on her stomach crying the whole time until she nuzzled close to me.  Talk about a true friend.  I miss her so♥

My being a 'friend of the family' and having met your sweet Molly through several photos, I know how much she meant to you and what a pretty cocker spaniel girl she was. You're a true dog lover in every sense of the word and I know how you miss her. What a beautiful homecoming she afforded you, though...she missed her person!  ♥♥♥
