The background story of heroine Lara's life was very emotionally tugging. I cried just thinking about what life would be like if I were to become a twenty-something widow.
The friendship relationship between the heroine and her adorable neighbor was great to watch unfold.
I did not at all like the fact that several years went by during which we miss getting to see Hunter and his mommy's daily life.. And Lara really changed a bit during that time, too. Her attitude becomes more self-preserving, and maybe just a little selfishly fixated on her son, at times even to the exclusion of the man who loves her.
I really liked the beginning half of the book better, not because of the plot--which didn't fail to keep this reader interested--but because of the unique, fragile, tender and ultimately life-changing relationship that we get to see develop between Lara and the man who slowly becomes her best friend.
In the second half of the book, though, we do get to see things like redemption, and what happens when coworkers, or people who are believed to have known us well, think they see something and completely take things one says and mistakenly take them out of context, and how that can be more damaging to us than any objective person's word.
In all, a great story, and certainly heart-moving.

Angela Hunt is one of my favorite Christian authors! THis book keeps you going to the end.A book about how far science may think of going to proof their theories!

This book is a well-written fast paced thriller! I identified with the main character, and did not want the book to end!

I enjoyed this book so much that I have now shared it with 5 friends (and they all agreed with me). Good story and I never saw that ending coming. This book made me a huge Angela Hunt fan.

Another great book by Angela Hunt!! When I first started reading this book, I didn't think I was going to like it as much as the others I had read by this author. The more I read, the more I found it hard to put down. It's a good story and one that I would definitely recommend.

Wow what a good book. Once in a while one will sneak up on you and also be an author you never read. This is an older book but one that you dont want to miss. It has Christain undertones but not in a preachy sense, just a good read with good language and no sex. I hate reviews that tell you most of the story but Im sure you will not be disappointed with this one !!!

This book was so amazing. The concepts in it were deep and thought provoking. The action and suspense kept me closely engaged and the hints of romance were sweet. I really felt by the end of the book I knew the characters inside and out. I had a hard time getting my work done because I wanted to read this book strait through.

This is a fascinating tale of a woman who wants a child from her deceased husband's frozen sperm, a genetecist who knows how to manipulate DNA, an egotistical billionaire who thinks money can buy him a "designer-child" & a child who doesn't know how to tell a lie. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to know what truth is all about.

This has been the best book I've read this year.
A touch of romance, a touch of reality, a touch of sorrow, a touch of Christian beliefs, All wrapped in what at the time that the book was written- was somewhat of a fantasy-
Now that things have happened in real life, this book seems more scary that this could really happen.
Not too scary, but just enough intrigue to keep you going...
I could hardly put it down, trying to read it with a migraine... and finished it in less than 24 hours.
GREAT book by a GREAT author.
