Were you looking for "friends" in the PBS way? I sent you a friend request. If you didn't get it, feel free to friend me. I love those kinds of books, they're pretty much my favorites. Check out my WL for ideas on some I'm wishing for (it's how I find great books to add to my list, by trolling other peoples' WL).  Anyway, YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND! :-)

So memoirs in general are my favorite books to read. Didn't really know there was a rock n' roll memoir, but sure why not. Sounds like the juciest type. Of course! Now as far as what I would need for myself, I require large print only. So this limits me. There is not as much available in large print, let alone when narrowing it down to memoirs (and  also like erotica/romance).

The other thing is I am new to paperbackswap, so not to familiar with how things work. I would love to be friends with you and maybe we can share info in the future. Thanks,

I read tons of this, but mostly from the library.

There is such a huge variation in this genre, some are just dreadful, awful, and some are terrific.

I have been listening to Just Kids by Patti Smith.  If you haven't, you should listen to this one unabridged in her own voice.  Really powerfully written and read.

I also love this genre and was thinking of starting a thread asking for recommendations.

I especially like books that include historical context such as what was happening in social culture etc. in the artist's heyday.  Don't go so much for the ones that are all gossip.
