I'd heard of Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia, but based on the title, I thought it was a middle grade novel. Then I heard a trusted book recommendation source rave about it on a podcast episode so it went on my library hold list.
This is a fun contemporary mystery with a game/puzzle primary plot ... somewhat like Ready Player One but with much less tech or '80s nostalgia. A wealthy eccentric man dies and will give his fortune to those who solve an elaborate game he crafted during his lifetime. Also like RPO, there are subplots with the backstories of main characters and their relationships.
