I liked it better than I expected, given my memory of the last two Shifting Circle that I read. Karadel seems to have something in her life besides waiting for a guy. I didn't like Celeste that much, and Ryan was supposed to be unsympathetic, but the other characters were good. Thought the ending was awfully convenient. The logical side of my brain couldn't help wondering how long Karadel could keep up the pretense of Janet's life, and how long it would be till one of the numerous bodies buried on the property surfaces. But it was pleasant enough, and a very fast read.
