We found this to be an excellent introduction to turtles as pets. The book contains an introduction to turtles and tortoises in general, how to choose and care for pet turtles, descriptions and wonderful color photos of several species are given as well. Some legal information is given, since there are international, federal, and state laws about the sale and ownership of reptiles. The photos throughout the book are worth another mention: all in beautiful, clear color!
