A great book that will stay with you long after you have turned the last page. This book has so many layers and levels of every emotion and characters imaginable over such a space of time that the reader cannot help becoming part of emotional tide of this book.
A great book club read that will welcome much discussion.

The back cover talked about "devasting abuse" and I was not sure I was up for another child abuse story but this book is just plain excellent. Physical and emotional pain is present in just about every character but they are so interesting and the strength of their characters rises above the abuse. Told by multiple characters, the story reflects like a prism of points of view and interwoven time frame. I would recommend it to anyone....I too will look for more books by this author.

Terrific read! Ms Ellis' first book but she writes with the depth of a seasoned writer. Our book club had a telephone interview with her and she was delightful!

This was a very good book. The book is narrated by each of the characters. The troubles everyone goes through and the fact that they are able to overcome it. I really enjoyed the book. I felt like I knew each one of the characters.

This book surprised me. It was better than I expected it to be. It causes a person to contemplate and look deeper into how different events affect people. I recommend this book.
