This book is about two rich families and the children that were raised together. But, the interesting part is the maids daughter is in the mix. Also, there is a death of one of the kids and whodunnit.

This is the story of three families: the rich and powerful Warrens and the Whytesand the not-so-rich Morells, including Cassie Morell, the Warrens loyal housekeeper, and her daughter Katia, who adores the Warren and Whyte children. The story opens with the murder of two Warren and Whyte scions and soon delves into secrets and scandals aplenty. Hopefully, you will come to love two special characters whose futures are irrevocably linked: the humbly born Katia Morell and the wealthy Jordan Whyte.

I enjoy Barbara Delinsky. In this novel, she weaves together various characters with her usual skill.

Back Cover:
Katia Morrell grew up amid wealth, sharing the idyllic childhood enjoyed by America's aristocracy without ever really being one of them. As daughter of the housekeeper to the powerful Warren family, she never truly belonged. Now she is back at the Warren mansion, hoping to see the man she always loved, Jordan Whyte, heir to the Whyte fortune. The occasion is the mysterious deaths of Jordan's brother and his brothers wife. Now chic and rich in her own right, Katia returns feeling strong. But once she sees Jordan and how much he needs her, the old feelings come flooding back. Soon she is learning secrets about the family she thought she knew-and getting trapped in a chilling drama of murder and money, men and women, and truths so shocking they can only be revealed in...twilight whispers.

This is a little different from most of her books. It is part family saga, part murder mystery, and part love story. Good.

Here is the story of three families: the Warrens and the Whytes, wealthy, powerful, and connected by marriage of Deborah Warren and Mark Whyte; and the not-so-wealthy Morells-Cassie, the loyal housekeeper for the Warrens, and her daughter Katia, who grew up with and adores the Warrens and Whyte children.
The story opens with the funeral of Deborah and Mark, who have been murdered. In the course of his investigation, Robert Cavanaugh, the detective assigned to the case, traces the rise of the families to power and uncovers secrets and scandals aplenty. He also comes to admire-and I hope you'll come to love-Jordan Whyte and Katia Morell, whose futures are irrevocably linked.
This book is part family saga, part murder mystery, and part love story. A wonderful story that stands the test of time.
