Helpful Score: 2
This story is based on the 2005 movie starring Keira Knigthley and Matthew MacFayden. If you loved that adaptation, you'll probably love this book. The characters are very much based on Keira's and Matthew's portrayal of Elizabeth and Darcy. The language is a lot more modern that what you expect in a historical Regency, but the descriptions of places, fashion and some tools of the time are very well done.
Austenites and fans of the BBC 1995 adaptation beware - some of the story lines and flashbacks in this book are based on the 2005 movie script, which does not follow Austen's Pride and Prejudice to the "T". If you become outraged by deviations from the original, then this book is not for you.
Also, there are some sensual scenes that the author rates NC-17.
