I liked this science fiction novel of the past intruding into the present. I especially liked the scene where Joe sees an early twentieth-century elevator instead of the modern one that should be there.

Peter! You gave me this book in '04 before you left for Japan. (Along with a bunch of other books like Lord Foul's Bane) I finally got around to reading it and it was AWESOME. It was a short book but it's big on content, there are so many cool ideas here, and the setting is very intriguing. The mystery is very invol...ving and I can see that this being published in the 60s was a huge influence on science fiction in all the years to come. And the twist at the end! Wow. It has psychics, inertials, time travel, space travel, distorted realities, and explosions, what more could you ask for in a book under 203 pages? It made me see the world differently and I got you to thank for it! Thank you Peter for the gift of UBIK!
