I'm a big fan of Chelsea Handler's books. The first chapters of Uganda Be Kidding Me, which chronicle Chelsea's trip to Africa, are LOL funny. The last few chapters of the books, some of which are loosely travel themed, are hit and miss. The misses will inspire a few chuckles, but one of the hits (involving a kayak and the aftermath of the Africa trip) is surely one of the funniest things Chelsea has written.

I was disappointed to see some serious editing errors. For example, on page 183 underneath a picture of Chelsea and her friend kissing on a helicopter with grapes in their mouths, is a paragraph which reads "About three weeks later, I came into work and Sue had printed out several reviews of Chez Heini she found on Trip Advisor. The following are a few of them:" This is immediately followed by a paragraph that reads "About three weeks later, I came into work and Sue had printed out several reviews of Chez Heini she found on Trip Advisor. The following are some highlights:" For a book with a cover price of $27 (and almost as many pictures as a Little Golden Book) I would have expected better. I feel like I paid 27 cents to read what is essentially the same paragraph twice.

Fans of Chelsea Handler will surely read and enjoy this book, despite the crummy editing.

I am well aware that Chelsea Handler specializes in crass humor and I am a fan, you may call it a guilty read! I had never read a book that she had written and was always intrigued, so when I saw the ecopy on NetGalley, I thought this was the perfect time! I was not disappointed.

I loved how she was honest about her travels, but there were still a few moments were I could not decide if she was telling the truth or stretching it! I may have read the book in a few public places and had to keep my laughter inside, which was very hard! If you are in need of a break from your normal reading schedule (like I was!) then this is a perfect vacation.
