I would recommend this book to anyone. It has common sense information, plus things most people aren't aware of. This is not a 'diet' book and actually stresses how you shouldn't 'diet'. Alot of 'diet' plans have you change your eating habits in such a drastic measure, or have you eat what they give you, you lose the weight...then you gain it all back and probably more. That's because they just tell you what to do/eat and don't explain why, therefore you don't understand the what's and why's. This book explains all that to you.
This book basically teaches you how and what to eat, why, and how NOT to be obsessed with counting calories, measuring portions, etc. It helps you not to be so obsessive about losing weight and helps you lose the weight in a realistic, stress-free fashion and guides you through it. Let's face it, most "dieting" trends have you wound tight with so much stress that it seems to be the only focus in your life and you can't wait til it's over. This book takes you away from that and helps you lose the weight without you having to give up your life to do it, lol.

I lost 138 pounds on this eating plan and kept it off for a year--when I went back to old, emotional eating habits, sure enough, the pounds returned. Beginning is a bit drastic, but staying on is easy if you pay attention--I didn't, but have learned the folly of that and am resuming the plan. The eating plan is actually low-glycemic. The writing is important--my slip off began when I quit writing...
