Absolutely gripping, a wonderful book! I burned through this book, I couldn't put it down. Even when I closed it to sleep at night, it kept me awake. It made me realize the depth of sacrifice made by so many for our freedom. I gained knowledge of WWII, but also gained a whole new respect for the Pacific Ocean and the dangers therein. It made me so grateful for the comforts of home. Wow, just an amazing story! I may never get over it!

A most unusual book...a narrative of a true story. Not something I would normally read, but something I will never forget. Recommend highly!

I just finished this riveting book. Hillenbrand does a great job of telling this story I don't usually read non-fiction because it always seems to bog down in details and the story loses its flow. Not with Unbroken. I read the story in two days and never lost interest in it. I never skipped a page. I also read the notes in the back. It is all here. The beginning, the middle and the end. Check it out. Interesting aside: Interesting aviation history lessons you won't even know you are getting.
