I wasn't real sure about this book at first, thinking it may be a little too teenie bopper for me. While there was a lot of obesession with a boy I expected that and it wasn't horrible to read through. Actually if I'm being honest it was interesting to read because I remember going through some of those same thoughts. I enjoyed that the main character was a klutz and I found myself getting frustrated or worried as she did. I also liked the whole idea of Settlers as a secret group that's been around for a very long time, helping these undead be able to go back and rest in peace. I had not read anything about that before so that also kept my interest and wanted to know more about it. While reading I thought I had the evil doer behind everything and I was part wrong. Which for me it is always a little refreshing to caught off guard. I believe the author did a great job of making the characters believable and interesting. I will be looking to see if there is any other books available from Stacey Jay.

My Thoughts: First off, I'll start by saying I don't read too many zombie books. Usually I'm just not into the whole zombie thing. I prefer vampires to zombies, ghosts, etc. We meet Megan who finds out she is a zombie settler. What does that mean exactly? Its her job to put zombies back into the ground after they tell her their "unresolved issues." As she realizes this, someone has started using black magic so she's in all loads of trouble. She just wants to go to Homecoming and be normal. I really liked Megan. I could identify with her. We also meet Monica who is Megan's complete opposite, but she is also a zombie settler. But Monica is popular and kind of stuck up. Megan goes out on her first real date with popular guy Josh Pickle. We are meet Jess, Megan's best friend for 5 years. And she runs into old friend Ethan who is 3 years older than her and has been putting zombies down for a while now. She hasn't seen him since they were kids. The chemistry between Megan and Ethan is hot! From the minute they layed eyes on each other I wanted them to get together. In my opinion this book was really good and me saying that about a zombie book means I really enjoyed it a lot. Its fast paced and I love the way we got to know the characters. What happens do Megan and Monica? Do they become friends or stay enemies? What about Ethan? What about Josh?

Overall: Loved it. My first zombie book I loved. I liked Megan and I adored Ethan.

Cover: Its nice and I like the way she has her foot on a skeleton head.

Thoughts:
You Are So Undead to Me is about a 15 year old girl who can't remember part of her past. She still has nightmares about that night. The night a Zombie bit her. Yeah I said Zombie. You see, that girl, Megan, she's not your average teen. She's a Settler. Don't know what that is? Well then, let me tell you. Settlers are those few people who have to put the Unsettled a.k.a Zombies, back in their graves. They are Unsettled because they basically have some unfinished business. There can be some problems with these Unsettled though. For example, they could be seen which could be really bad, or they could become Reanimated Corpses because some evil Black magic using psycho is bringing them back in order to do some bad like say try to make Megan's life sucky. Something crazy and super evil is going on and it is highly likely that someone may be trying to kill Megan or the people around her or both. Yikes! Suspense! :D
The main guy just so happens to be a really hot guy who is also basically a cop. He's not really a cop but that's the equivalent of what he is in the Settler "world" (I mean world as in, totally different from the normal non-settler people not like Aliens or something). He's three years older than her okay? Not some 30 yr old creeper. Just wanted to make that clear. I really liked him and his relationship with her.
I REALLY liked reading this book! I've read/seen similar things, but it's creative and cute enough to be different and to make it stand out quite a bit. Some parts actually made me laugh out loud and who doesn't love that?
About the cuteness--Gosh it was so darn cute! All of it, I loved it! There were some moments that were so sad. I seriously felt heartbroken when the character felt heartbroken. Poor girl I felt so bad for her. :( Do you know what that means? Yes I'm a wuss, but it also means I really "connected" with the protagonist. That's the absolute main reason I liked this book so much. So many will relate to it which just makes that much of a better read.
I'll admit, I thought this book might not be that great. I'm happy to say I was wrong, so, SO wrong. Give it a try, you'll find yourself liking it too.
Something I didn't like though was the whole mystery part of it. There's a bad guy so you are constantly wondering "Oh man, who is it? Is it that person? Or maybe that one?" I kinda figured out who it was, but only partially. It's hard to explain without spoiling it, so I just won't say more. Not to make you guys think I'm smart when it comes to solving mysteries, because I'm NOT, I just tend to guess right is all. So don't be put off by that. I felt like pointing it out anyway. I honestly didn't find this book predictable, but if you're a really good guesser like me, then you might figure it out. There are quite a bit of twists and turns so I doubt you'll be exactly right, I sure as heck wasn't. Actually you know what? I don't think you'll figure it out, there's just no way. hehe Sorry :D

Cool:
I loved that the writing kept me glued to every single page. I finished the book pretty quickly because I really enjoyed the story, I just had to know what was going to happen next.
The Shmeg thing is HILARIOUS!
Not so cool:
I didn't really like the whole amnesia thing then all of a sudden she remembered it all. I get what the author was going for, but the way it was written, it just didn't do it for me, it didn't convince me.
I didn't like the fact that there's no explanation for why Megan's mom doesn't tell her about her past. I mean, the mom must have known about that guy.

Note:
I just want to say, I do not appreciate the fact that John Heder was basically said to be unfortunate looking tsk tsk He's cute! :D I get that the author is basically comparing his "nerdy" looks to those of the main hot guy but tsk tsk not nice, man, not nice.
Another thing, I thought the Josh eyebrow thing was a bit odd. The reason for it not the act itself.

A Look Inside:

"Very Mature. And this was the woman I was supposed to respect as the Yoda to my Skywalker. She was way more Wookie."

"I closed the journal and hurried to the front of the room, feeling like I was back in the third grade getting in trouble for reading Princess Diaries novels instead of my stupid assigned reading."

"Think of the she-devil and she shall appear. 'Thanks, Monica. I really appreciate your concern,' I said, my tone so sweet it could have caused a diabetic to go into shock."

Fifteen-year-old Megan Berry thought that she'd been rid of the Settler gig forever. Ever since the zombies attacked her at the age of ten, she hasn't been expected to continue interviewing the regular, nonthreatening undead to help them settle their worldly affairs so they could quietly go back to the grave.

But now, dead guys are showing up on her doorstep again, and even though Megan's Settler powers have returned full-force, picking up the job she inherited from her mother is the last thing Megan wants to worry about. Homecoming looms, and Megan not only has to work on snagging a date with the most popular football player in school, but she also has to avoid confrontation with fellow Settler Monica so that she and her best friend, Jess, can make Pom Squad tryouts.

How is Megan supposed to work her way into Carol High's upper crust if dead people keep interrupting at the most inopportune times?

Homecoming grows even more unlikely for Megan when she learns that someone is using black magic to reanimate corpses into the flesh-eating variety. What's worse is that they seem to be targeting her, and Megan is having a rough enough time just trying to appear normal while easing back into the Settler business.

This unexpected attraction Megan has for the Settler Affairs officer who's been assigned to her case isn't helping much, either, especially when he starts creeping into every aspect of her life. Megan is going to have to work her hardest to figure out what's going on and keep her life in order, before being a Settler manages to destroy it.

This hilarious story has something for every girl who likes monsters, magic, mystery, and a little kick-ass action. I also found it to be an interesting take on zombies, and I look forward to seeing more of Megan in the promised second book.
