This is the third in the series of the "Undead" or "Betsy Taylor" books by Mary Janice Davidson. So far, I love the series. Besty is a riot and if she were a real person (dead or undead) I swear we would be best friends. She even says fuck a duck, that's so me!!! The first two in the serial are great and this one was good but not quite the standard of the other two. I got this book as a Bargain Book from Amazon and I am glad I didn't have to pay the $20+ for it, not worth the hardcover price yet. The general premise of this novel is that Betsy discovers that she has a half-sister whom is also the daughter of the devil. Interesting twist but not a powerful storyline like the previous novels. She needed to shop more, lol. However, despite its faults this novel is still a fun read!

This is the 3rd book in MJD's Undead series and it was great! I swear this series is getting better as it goes along. Either that or Betsy is just growing on me! LOL In this book, Betsy finds out that her stepmom was possessed by the devil for 10 months and now she's got a 20 year old half-sister who's the devil's daughter and destined to rule the world! I only wish these books were a bit longer. At 271 pages (and fairly large type), it's a really quick read. Quirky, funny, and left me wanting more!

I enjoyed this one too but the main character seems to be more chatty, in a dumb, juvenile, more curse words type of way. In other books she seemed to have a ditzy charm and a go with the flow or make the most of what you have been given type of attitude that isn't as obvious in this one.

Elizabeth "Betsy" Taylor, Queen of the Vampires, is having yet another bad day. Her stepmother, The Ant, is pregnant with her half-sibling, and still as unlikeable as always. Her dad, stopping by to encourage her not to make an appearance at the baby shower, lets it slip that Betsy has another half-sibling that was given up years ago. Determined to find out who this brother or sister is, Betsy goes on a reading binge, locking herself in the library with her copy of The Book of the Dead.
Totally forgetting that too much vampire book in one sitting can make you insane, Betsy reads until common sense is pushed by the wayside. She attacks her best friend, Jessica, verbally harangues her friend Marc, tells off Tina, the vampire king's right-hand-lady, and jumps Sinclair's bones.
To make matters worse, Betsy discovers that her long-lost half-sister, Laura, is more than just the adopted daughter of a minister and his wife--she's also the daughter of the Devil, who took over The Ant's body while she was pregnant.
Talk about a bad week! The latest installment of the life and times of Betsy is as funny as ever, filled with MaryJanice Davidson's one blend of sarcastic wit. I can't wait for the release of UNDEAD AND UNRETURNABLE, to pick up Betsy's life where this book left off.

I was entertained for a couple hours, but felt like the book was just lacking. Maybe because this book was a hardback, I had greater expectations. I feel a bit ripped off, because even as a small hardback, the pages had large margins and large print. This would even make a tiny paperback.
As much as I look forward to the books in the "Undead" series, I would be happier to wait a little bit longer if it meant I got a story that was more fleshed out. I have grown to embrace all the characters in the series, and felt that this book did a disservice to them.
Despite that, I am still looking forward to the next one.

The continuing saga of Betsy, the Vampire Queen. More shoe jokes, a bit of graphic sex, Betsy's half-sister Laura, the Devil's daughter, etc. Read it in an afternoon. Quick and cute.

Fast read, if you like this series you will enjoy this book. However,I did not feel it added much to the series, felt kind of like a filler even with the addition of Betsy's sister and the Devil, (who I hope to see more of)

Just a good laugh out loud read, Very enjoyable. This is book 3 in the series, but you do not have to read them in order to enjoy them. This is a series you will get hooked on very easily, so be prepared to hunt for the rest of the series when you are finished with this one. Loads of fun in these pages.

The Queen Betsy series is fabulously written in great detail...right down to the graphic sex scenes. I'm not very shy but she was able to make my jaw drop!
With less than 300 pages, the books are a light, easy read. They aren't met to be taken seriously, aren't incredibly deep, but have several laugh out loud moments and some that made me gasp in disbelief.
In Unappreciated, readers are introduced to Besty's "hell spawn" half sister. Laura is the devil's daughter that adopted by a Presbyterian minister. In an act of rebellion to her birth mother (the Devil), she rebels by being the perfect model citizen...a citizen that wields a vanishing sword of hellfire.
Before going crazy after reading the Book of the Dead, Betsy learns that Laura is destined to take over the world.

Once again, Davidson has written a wonderful installment to the series. Can't wait to read the rest of the story!
Big development with the introduction of Betsy's half-sister but somehow this book didn't grab me the way the first two did. In my second reading of the whole series I am disappointed in Sinclair, wish there was more depth to their relationship or at least more shown of how they relate to each other. It seems like they are in love without any reason and with almost no contact.
Still a very fast, breezy read with some cute moments and laughs. But my least favorite of the first three.

Undead and Unappreciated finds Betsy dealing with an escapee Fiend, being crazy from trying to read the Book of the Dead, dealing with a pregnant stepmonster and finding out her half sister is the daughter of the devil.
This was an ok read. I'll have to admit that, although cute in the first 3 books, Betsy's ditzy thing is about to wear thin for me. And there are other books, so perhaps it will be explored more fully later, I wasn't really happy with explanation of Laura's life and how her adopted parents found out about her conception

Betsy Taylor is now a vampire queen and is trying to run a nightclub when she finds out she has a long-lost half-sister.
She is a delightful author. I have really had a wonderful time reading this series. The humor is great and the little nuances are enjoyable. This is light easy reading. But for those who may be offended by some minor descriptive sexual acts, be aware they are in each book. It would be easy to just "skip" past those parts and not miss any meaning in the book. She was recommended to me by my sister and I really agree. Having a blast with "Betsy" and the gang.

A really good book.
quirky, fast paced. Witty dialogue. This appears to be the 3rd book in a series and I would recommend reading one of the others first - it took me a while to figure out the characters and the premise. "Undead and Unwed" is one of the others. "Undead and Unemployed" is the other. Check publish dates to see which is 1st
I think this was the best in the series so far!
This series is excellent! These books are so fun to read and I zip through them in a matter of a few hours. I would classify these books more as sci-fi/fantasy than romance though, only because the romance piece is slight. Betsy's descriptions of The Ant really remind me of my own step-mother, and they crack me up! I am excited to see where the overall plot of the series is going.
