This book is a real page turner. A religious fanatic takes 11 kids and their bus driver hostage. He holds them underground in a buried school bus. The book details their struggle during their captivity, the FBI's handling of the case, and a reporter's involvement. I really enjoyed reading about the psychology of a cult leader and how he justified murder in the name of God. It is an interesting insight into the mind of the insane. The other characters are rich and real and easy to identify with. You are left full of admiration for the strength and courage of the kids, the bus driver, the reporter and all the FBI agents. Suspenseful without being horrifying. Molly Cates, the reporter, is a strong, intelligent, resourceful, down-to-earth woman with a good sense of humor. I loved the character. A good read.
Deep beneath the Texas flatlands, a school bus has been buried by a madman. Inside the bus, eleven hostages are alive-for now-but the stange killing countdown has begun.
Aboveground, while the law stands by helpless, one woman reporter dares to hunt down the terrible secret that could stop-or ignite-a killing spree.

Although the book started out a bit slow it became a real page turner that was almost impossible to put down. Would you like to find out what happens to the captured bus driver and his 11 young passengers??

Excellent book with riveting action! One of the best I have read in years. The plot will keep you guessing, up until the very end.

I liked this, but it seemed familiar....maybe I'd read it before? Interesting, though.
